Advantages: beautiful hotel, given a room with a terrace
Disadvantages: Out of season there isnt a huge amount to do

a few. I can recommend Arbroath for a day out. The hotel definitely offers an ideal base to explore this area of Scotland. ~~~~Food and drink~~~~ The hotel is well known for its food and has been awarded an AA Rosette for the cuisine in its restaurant. The menu offers a mix of Scottish and continental cuisine. The restaurant is open 6 days a week Monday to Saturday from 12noon to 1430 and 1800 to 2100 (2130 on a Saturday). On Sundays the restaurant is open for Carvery Lunch from 12 noon to 1430 and then for a Mixed Carvery and Grill in the evening from 1800 to 2100. When we stayed at the hotel, we were on a budget and found the dinner menu a little out of our price range but hopefully the next time we visit we will be able to sample the food. Hotel Best Western Obelisk - Istanbul

Advantages: 3* Hotel in a 5* location
Disadvantages: Noisy rooms.

This Best Western hotel is one of about six Best Western Hotels all in this old part of Istanbul known as Sultanahmet. It really is in a very convenient location and the LOCATION is its greatest asset. It is a three star hotel in an area containing five star holiday attractions. The hotel advertises its roof terrace as the sort of restaurant under the stars of everyone's dreams. I thought it was jaded and thus overrated with a distant view of the sea which was hardly on the waterfront. The rooms are OK. I had a de-luxe room which had been reduced on-line from an advertised price of Euros 134 to Euros 75.The TV had CNN and BBC World and the bed was very comfortable. I found the decor a bit drab. Best Western Hotel, Dublin.

Advantages: Close to tram stop and airport bus stop.
Disadvantages: Can get quite busy with people checking in & out.

I have stayed at this hotel twice in the last few years. Its quite a way outside the main Temple-Bar area but is right by the tram stops. As the trams run very regularily getting about is easy. The hotel is very close to Houston rail station. If you fly into Dublin airport one of the many buses outside the airport will take you to the station and the hotel is about a 3 minute walk away. The rooms are sparce and basic but suitable. The breakfast is very good and you certainly wont want for a large lunch. This is a big fry-up with all the trimmings. The cost of the hotel is middle of the road but reasonable for what you get. Yes its reasonably basic inside but you get what you pay for. It does get quite busy and checking in and out can take up a little time. There is the facility to leave luggage there if you arrive ...
