. The sea front in Zante Town is also a beautiful place for walks.
For the more active, there is a fab water sports beach that I heard of but never went to as I believe it was quite expensive.
Overall, this was the best holiday I have ever been on. Kalamaki is the ideal location for everyone of any age. It is central to key resorts such as Laganas and Zante Town, and provides a perfect base if you want a balance between nightlife and relaxation. It is also an ideal location for families. The whole holiday - accomodation, flights, spending money, etc cost less than £700 for 2 weeks, and for the Zante I experienced, this is the best value for money I could ever imagine getting.
A final word of warning is the airport on return. The departure lounges are minimal, and if you do get delayed like we do, it doesn't have that many facilities. Make ...

Advantages: Sparkling sea and quiet Disadvantages: None
I first went to the Island of Zakynthos aka Zante in the year of 1998. I cannot recall much of this holiday as i was quite young when i went for the first time. The last time i visited the glorious island of Zakynthos was last October. With its glorious and sparkling sea Zante sets your pulse rate soaring. Zante is a Greek Island part of a group of islands named the Ionian Islands which are situated West of mainland Greece in the Aegean sea.

Advantages: up all night, fun party time! Disadvantages: noisy!
I visited Laganas in Zante (Zaknythos) in July 2008. I had heard some pretty bad things about the town, as a boy was killed when bouncers threw him down some a steep staircase the week before I flew out. We flew with Thomas Cook which was, as always, pleasent as ever. Our group of 6 were 18 so obviously we wanted to have fun whilst in Zante.
WHERE WE STAYED-
We stayed in the Alexander Hotel (also known as Alexander the Great) around 10 minutes away from the airport and as most places, it was not as described as in the brochure. We were greeted by around 20 teenage drunk teenage boys even though it was around 7 o'clock in the morning. We soon found out that our hotel had a 24/7 bar serving alcohol the whole time- not such a good idea if you want to sleep! The rooms were tiny with three small beds, and a small balcony off it ...
