Located down a side street, just off one of the main city centre roads, Bibi's is a wonderfully relaxed restaurant, which has a fabulous atmosphere. It's one of those places where, despite the fact that the noise level is always hovering somewhere between "hubbub" and "din", every table seems to be a world of it's own, and it is easy to share a quiet romantic night with the lucky person of your choice.
Before I first went there, I had heard that the waiter's were not especially helpful or friendly, and that the food wasn't great. I can only assume that my friend had either a) gone when everyone was having a particularly bad night, b) had gone to an entirely different restaurant and got them confused, or c) was working for the competition. Whatever the reason, I was glad to find that their prognosis was incorrect. From the word go, when we were met by a smiling maitre'd, I found the staff to be very polite and helpful, despite the fact that the place was packed to the rafters, and people were actually having to wait for over an hour to be seated (I'll explain why in a moment). Under all the pressure of lots of people complaining, and I never once saw the Maitre'd let her smile slip. What a pro.
Now, the reason for the seating delay was that, unfortunately, weekend tables are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis, with no bookings, which meant that, by the time we arrived, we ended up in a queue that gave us a 1hr 30mins wait (At least, the last time I went that's what happened. Ring first and make sure though!). I will say one thing though - it was worth it.
As with just about anywhere you care to mention, the food at Bibi's is not cheap. However, it is by no means as expensive as a lot of places I've been. For two people, our meal came to about £50, including starters, a dessert, coffees and the tip, which I thought was excellent. Also, the food itself is superb, and was served quickly too, although I suppose after waiting for so long for a table, it's just as well! Both meat and vegetables were prepared perfectly, and the dessert menu was a nightmare - how to decide from so many good things?! Portions are as you would expect, although I can safely say that we were not hungry afterwards.
The restaurant has a self-contained bar, so those lengthy waits become a lot more bearable, and there is also a very pleasant veranda, from which you can sit and watch the world go by. And, with the major bars and clubs very nearby, and large parties catered for, Bibi's makes a perfect start to a good group night out, or a perfect evening for couples.
Advantages: Gorgeous food, great atmosphere Disadvantages: Pricey - although worth it in my opinion
Bibi's is an Italian restaurant situated under the dark arches in Leeds. It is within easy walking distance of Leeds train station and Leeds city centre.
The first thing that struck me about Bibi's was how big it was. There is a large bar area where you can just sit and have cocktails or pre-dinner drinks and the actually restaurant is enormous with some tables situated on a balcony area higher up, which gives you a great view of the rest of the ... ...was its decor - its lovely. Very posh and sophisticated. A black glittery marble tiled floor, fancy bar area with loads of down-lighters and big fancy light fittings.
These 2 things impressed me immediately and when combined with the happy, chattery and relaxed atmosphere you know you're going to be in for a good night.
The menu at Bibi's is very extensive. Plenty of pizzas and pastas, meat and fish dishes and vegetarian options are on the main ...

Advantages: live music, safe food, good cocktails Disadvantages: hard to find, can be expensive, sometimes slow service.
Bibi's restaurant in Leeds is a good place for a meal or drink, but by no means exceptional. Once you have found it, which is a difficult enough task in itself, it is a well lit welcoming exterior. It is worth knowing the street name if you are traveling by taxi, as my driver had no idea where the restaurant was. It is a very large restaurant inside and important to get there early to ensure you get a good table, otherwise you'll end up in a dark ... ...to be honest it is little more than the typical 'pizza and pasta'. The staff, when I was there, were fairly unresponsive and there was a considerable delay from drinks to food to paying the bill! This is coming across rather negative, but that is not the intention. It is simply a safe choice of restaurant in leeds, that serves good food and an excellent (but expensive cocktail). Overall, I was neither wowed by the food or shocked by the price - it ...

Advantages: Excellent food, convenient location Disadvantages: Expenisve for what it is
The food in Bibi's is excellent. No question. And if money was no object than I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant. However, being a student, money is limited and for a meal for two costing over sixty pounds, I had to question whether I would make a return trip.
There are numerous reasons to love this restaurant. Firstly, there is no need to book so it is ideal for a meal on a whim (or for those with boyfriends who do not specialise in forward ... ...the fact that it was eight o’clock on a Saturday night but there did appear to be nearly a dozen larger groups waiting for a table so bear that in mind if there are a few of you. The service was impeccable, although a few smiles would have been welcome and there is a fabulous atmosphere about the place. Bibi's greatest asset is (as it should be for a restaurant) the food. There is a huge variety of food on offer so allow yourself a good ten minutes ...

Advantages: Fantastic menu, great venue Disadvantages: No reservations for small groups
Without wanting to sound overly keen, this is the best restaurant I have ever had the pleasure of dining in. I first heard about Bibi's when it was on Greek Street, and have returned several times to its new haunt on Criterion Place. The experience at the old Bibi's was fantastic, and has only improved in its new setting.
Walking through the front door is like walking back in time. Surrounded by plush extravagant mirrors, pillars and black marble ... ...set. The cocktail bar off to the right is a great place to start your evening, offering a wide selection of cocktails and bar snacks. My favourite cocktail, a Singapore Sling, wasn't on the menu. However, a quick word with the waitress and a perfectly made cocktail arrived at my table in no time.
The food is spectacular. There is no other way to discribe it. There is always something different on offer on the specials menu, including seasonal fish ...
