...would watch the people water-sking and enjoying themselves. Also fishing is very big here. Just remember you must get a fishing permit, even if it is only a day's outing. Then the boat got sold. Also there are wonderful hiking trails, kiddie areas, and so much more. Certainly worth a visit. Take the family to one of the picnic areas. You will love it. Just remember that there are no kiosks or carts selling food and drinks. So go prepared. Most people have heard of Busch Gardens. This is their main reason for visiting this city, but Tampa has so much more to offer. Lowery Park Zoo, is about 10 minutes from Busch Gardens, just off Busch Blvd. Not only is this a wonderful zoo, but right next to it is the children's rides area. Advantages: An underrated treasure on Florida's Gulf Coast

...Think of Florida and you will no doubt think of sun, sea, sand and shrimp. Think of a destination in Florida and you will no doubt pick Orlando, Miami, Clearwater or maybe even Sarasota. I would like to welcome you to my favourite place in the sunshine state – Tampa. You may have passed through this city on the interstate (I4/I275) on your way from DisneyWorld to St Pete Beach and never given it another thought. You might have visited on a day trip to its major theme park, Busch Gardens (see below) with a Florida Combination admission ticket (linked with SeaWorld and Cypress Gardens). Advantages: Great Location, Modern Airport, and reasonably quiet
Disadvantages: none that I can think of...

...Hi, as a frequent flyer to Florida, I generally have flown into KMCO (Orlando International), however, a couple of years ago I discovered the delights of Tampa, a modern, clean, International standard airport, right on the edge of the City and linked to the major Interstate highways.. Tampa has all the major car rental companies either on site or just off site ( we always use Dollar) which has an airport pickup facility which means within an hour of landing ( usually) we are on the I4 ( Interstate 4) on our way to Central Florida.. Another great benefit of flying into and out of Tampa, is the huge Walmart just a couple of blocks away from the airport ( Walmart are the nice guys who just bought out ASDA Supermarkets here in the UK)... Walmart is ideally situated for a few hours shopping just before your return flight to the UK... Read review
