Advantages: Fantastic Atmosphere, Great Choice of drinks, nice clientelle, "brilliant" decor Disadvantages: a little pricey, the toilets (though they have a unique "charm" as well!)

Big Hands is one of Manchesters true "hidden gems". Located on Oxford Road just after the University and just before the start of the Curry Mile. from the outside it looks completely unimposing (the heavily graffitied back wall aside), sandwiched between a Kebab house and an independent flower store. Once inside however the curios drinker is transported into a dark, "lived in" bar. Big Hands is not a big venue, comprising solely of a bar, a mish-mash of disjointed furniture that looks like it could ahve been rescued from a skip, and the finest Jukebox in Manchester (classic pop, Blues, Soul, Funk, Rock, Punk). The walls ooze history and passion (and occaisionally rain water!), covered in layer upon layer of tatty posters from gigs old and new, proffessing the new releases of some unheard of band from a niche genre, patchworked on top of the pixies or a hand drawn note from someone looking for a drummer. If all this sounds a bit "grimy" I;d like to reassure you that it is these things that set Big Hands apart from the competition. Though a little dark it is the PERFECT place for a quiet drink with friends, the start of a heavy night out, or even a place to escape it all with a book and a glass of red wine (with the added bonus of feeling bohemian and a little pretentious!). Many an afternoon has been wiled away with a copy of Satre or Engel's work (who incidentally lived a stones throw away from the bar) witha coffee and a ciggarette.
Offering a fine selection of speciality lagers and ciders (both bottled and on draught), as well as innumerable spirits to mix and match as you choose (They've always had some lovely speciality rums when I've been in :) ) the bar itself isn't cheap but isn't horrendously overpriced, and in part it feels fine "paying for the atmosphere" as it were. During the day Big Hands serves up pastries, sandwiches and slices of cake, as well as some pretty mean coffee. The Clientelle is mixed, ranging from pretentious beret wearing humanities students discussing existance, indie posuers with big hair and tiny jeans, hippies, business types and everyone in between. It feels sometimes like walking into a living room at the most disparate house on the planet. It's a favourite haunt of musicians before and after gigs at the acedmy, so you may even be hobknobbing with the stars!
It's dark, it's dank, it's at times a bit dirty but it's certainly unique, and hasd a charm that most sterile "bars" would kill for!
BigHand Mo's was the greatest pub in London. Like a deep well it sat, mossed over by the ages, the dark and dank secret it held invisible from outside. Dark and moody, clouded in atmosphere and Dickensian in its smoky and dusty environment, this was the perfect place to enjoy a nice pint and to talk to the whole host of strangers who flock to its turbulent epicentre. If you were looking for life, you need have looked no further. They came from Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and Poland, all looking for the place known to the few as "Mo's". This was the beauty of it, its lack of mass knowledge. Mo's was for the select few, the cutting edge, those in the know, and there was no greater thrill than introducing somebody to the delights of the pub, lettng them meet the landlord, watching as they gazed in awe at the finely crafted chalk ...
Advantages: Leather seats, professional staff, decent room Disadvantages: Expensive Food
I flew with Thomson to Egypt as part of a package holiday in November 2007, travelling from East Midlands Airport to Sharm El Sheikh.
The flight was due to depart at 10.30 in the morning so check in opened at 8.30 and we arrived around fifteen minutes after that. Check in was quick, it wasn't busy at that time in the morning, but the lady on the desk was fast and efficient.
We boarded the plane around half an hour before it was due to depart so it gave us some time to settle in. The plane wasn't huge, the seating configuration was 3x3 with one aisle, but it had leather seats and there was adequate leg room. The overhead luggage compartments were quite big too, with enough room for my hand luggage anyway. The plane appeared fairly new and it was clean and tidy and well presented.
We sat in the back compartment and there were ...
Advantages: Subway is healthier. Disadvantages: Mc Donalds Is Unhealthy.
Subway, eat healthy? But seriously is it really that healthy?!
Well... Subway's meal comes out at 265 calories, while the Big Mac meal hits a gluttonous 1230 calories. But that subway is based on the sub being without cheese, or sauce but i mean who orders a sub with no cheese or sauce?
However, Subway does aim to be more healthier than Mc donalds, as Mc donalds do aim to push out their healthy side, such as salad and water, they are still promoting the Big macs and Pounders. Which doesnt really help the matter. Subway on the other hand promotes the "fresh" salad, and 5 a day veg.
What comes with the Sub, well you can either order the sub with a cookie, crips or/and drink. Mc donalds on the other hand, small chips, medium chips, large chips, drink, and a salad which probley isnt much healthier than the chips.
Mc Donalds do ...
