My partner and I decided to visit amsterdam and we had a fantastic deal on a bmi baby flight so went on line to look for hotels. I found the hotel on an amsterdam tourist website offering some 2 night deals. I booked the hotel not knowing really what to expect. On arrival in Amsterdam we got a taxi from the airport to the hotel which is situated in a residential area. the area is upmarket and the hotel is described as a boutique type hotel. Its modern and the staff are friendly and approachable, there was some mix up with the room booking - however the Reception Manager did not make an issue of it and apologised for the inconvenience. On entering the room which was huge by any standards we were more than pleasantly surprised. There was everything we could possibly want including a jacuzzi bath ( room enough for one or two very little people, but that's not a complaint as it was bliss to lie there contemplating on one's own) The room was decorated superbly and the colour scheme worked ( burgandy and mustard) the view was fantasic we had a semi circular window with glass from floor to ceiling , comfortable chairs and table to just sit there look out and admire the view. The Hotel was quiet and had a graceful air about it. There was plenty of storage and wardrobe space and the bathroom was clean and came complete with all the goodies that one expects these days. We did not eat in the hotel as there is so much to see and do in the city. The restaurant however looked busy on the saturday evening so it must be quite popular with the locals? The hotel itself is certainley wthin walking distance to the tram stop and also to local shops and amenities, sort of reminded me of St Johns wood (London) The hotel represented very good value for money and nothing was to much trouble for any of the staff. This is the type of hotel where you can truly relax its unpretentious. I would reccommend this hotel to anyone and especialy those of us who want to go into the city but want to stay just outside of all the action.
There is no doubt that if I do go again to Amsterdam this will be my first choice of hotel.
I beleive there are other hotels within this small group as well
Very good review - but I have been there - and you have not raved enough!! We reckon it was the best stay anywhere we have ever been in the whole world ! Suppose I had better go and do my own review !! Trevor
