Our Tour Operator booked us into the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Den Haag instead of the hotel in Schiphol [where the airport is]. Not wanting to miss out on the sights of Amsterdam, and not wanting to travel 60km each way between the sights and the hotel we made our way to Amsterdam. After about 300EUR in transport, conmen taxi drivers, and "Sorry we're full, good luck!" from ever hotelier we were directed to the Garden Hotel by their sister hotel Jan Luyken.

The BilderbergHotel Jan Luyken is very good for those who like a more cultural aspect. It is located near the museums and is in the South neighborhood in Amsterdam. This area is the heart of cultural Amsterdam, all the important museums are basically a stone's throw away. Opposite the hotel you will find the Rijks museum and the Van Gogh Museum and virtually on the doorstep are the famous P.C. Hooftstraat, the Vondelpark and the Leidseplein with its cosy cafés, trendy bars, theatres and cinemas. As if thats not enough only a few minutes' walk away are the Concertgebouw and the Van ...

be booked over the hotel groups website, by calling a central reservations number, by calling the hotel directly and most likely through your locale travel agents alothough i wouldn't recommend this as it will work out much more expensive that contacting the hotel directly.
I would definatly recommend a visit to this hotel especially for a special occassion, the staff are always friendly, helpful and willing to go the extra mile, for example several times they've made food for me not on the menu just because i enquired as to whether they did do it or not. Also if you have an american express card you can often get deals on buy one get one night free in de vere hotels, and sometimes a free upgrade (the reason i got junior suites both time!) ...

To this day the atmosphere and the experience of staying in this hotel can be described as princely. The building was the personal property of Queen Wilhelmina until 1962. There are 94 tastefully decorated guest rooms and suites with every modern comfort and several well equipped meeting rooms for groups up to 250. It has an excellent restaurant as well as a number of magnificent venues for dinners and receptions, including Royal Palace \\\Het Loo\\\". An enjoyable dinner does not depend solely on the menu. The surroundings also play a very important part. Guests can relax in the indoor pool, sauna, leisure centre and there are plenty of opportunities for sports and outdoor recreation."
