Let's go to Legoland

Advantages: You're in Denmark - can't be a greater advantage! It's clean, no queues and very pleasant travelling experience
Disadvantages: Food and Shops are more expensive than the High Street

...to Billund?

Billund is in central Jutland (the part of Denmark attached to Germany) – and it is located right next to Legoland. So if you would like to take your children to the Danish Legoland for a weekend, it is the ideal place to fly to. It is also a popular airport with businessmen who need to visit central Jutland. Or if you just want to visit Denmark to travel and go shopping (and not go to Copenhagen) this airport is in a great ...
...history (summarised from the Billund website and from my own experiences)

Billund Airport was opened on 1st November 1964 but the passenger terminal wasn’t opened until 1966 – passengers had to use the LEGO hangar in the meantime. SAS flew between Billund and Copenhagen on a daily basis (now 5 flights per day) and the first Charter flight was in December 1964, but didn’t become a regular occurrence until after the passenger terminal ... more

Standard

Advantages: Central location, free wireless access, clean and tidy
Disadvantages: Showing its age a bit!

out myself so can't confirm or deny that! As mentioned above, the hotel is very easy to get to - if you find the train station, you can't miss it. This makes it ideally-placed for travellers arriving by train of course, but also for anyone who flies to Aarhus, as the airport bus service drops passengers off at the train station. Billund airport is also not far away (approx. 70km from Aarhus) but the airport bus from here unfortunately doesn't stop at the station; passengers alight instead at the Radisson SAS hotel. This is only 5-10 minutes' walk away from the Best Western, but still a little inconvenient. All in all, the Best Western Ritz offers perfectably acceptable service, standard rooms and a decent breakfast (and although the Ciao listing says it has one star, in fact it boasts three) - it's nothing out of the ordinary, but ...

Danish Wonderland

Advantages: Keeps kids and adults amused for hours, a truly magical place
Disadvantages: Very expensive, poor quality food within park

style the merchandise is expensive, so I would advise bringing your own food into the park and waiting to purchase lego products from your local toy store. The Legoland season is from the end of March through to the end of October, with the opening hours varying according to the time of year. We travelled by ferry to the port of Esbjerg, from where we travelled the 40 ? 50 minutes by car (the time being dependant on the volume of traffic.) However, there are alternatives such as flying to Billund international airport, which is within walking distance of Legoland. Enjoyable for children of all ages and adults. Definitely well worth a visit. ...

Review of Legoland (Denmark)

Great flight, bad food

Advantages: Good friendly service
Disadvantages: Food is not up to scratch on most flights

picked up our bags off the conveyer belt and were out of the airport only 5 minutes after the time we were meant to have landed! Is that a record? Seriously, as it's a scheduled airline, I have found that the flights are generally very punctual, if they do take off a little late, they generally make up the lost time during the flight. ~~~Recommendation~~~ Despite the food (I'm probably being picky anyway!), I do recommend flying with this airline. As I am travelling to near Billund airport, the extra cost over the Ryanair price is compensated by convenience. The flight is always pleasant and efficient. ...
