Two attractions in one!

Advantages Family friendly, decent ticket prices, educational, variety of animals
Disadvantages Far out of centre of Montreal
We visited Biodome de Montreal in September 2007. Immediately we could see the mixture of old and new, as the Biodome is housed inside the 1976 Olympique Stadium. The outside of the building still shows the Olympic Ring and Flags, and the centre still houses the tower and Olympic pool facilities. Two attractions for the price of one!
Inside, the Biodome is divided in to several ecosystems, therefore you get a chance to see a variety of animals and areas, including the Tropics and Marine ecosystems. The range of exhibitions and animal sanctuaries is suitable for all ages and all tastes. They range from penguins and arctic birds to sea anenomes and pirhanas, from macaws and marmosets to lynx and beavers. It can take an hour or two, perhaps longer (depending on your pace) to view every display and habitat and a coffee shop and gift shop will add to this if you want to make a day of it.
This attraction is especially suited to children and has fact files and displays to educate and interest young people, therefore it is a recommended family fun day.
