Fun filled but time consuming park

Advantages: Great rides ( shame we didnt get on any)
Disadvantages: Queue waiting, prices, staff attitude, food pricing, Not enough pay boxes open

...family took a trip to drayton manor. The park opens at 10.00am and we got there for 10.30am after a 3 hour drive from newcastle. On arrival the queues were outrageous, Thay had 10 paying boxes and only 2 of them were open! (for it being the school holidays i was quite shocked) , We waited one hour to get to the front of the queue which took us to 11.30am. I paid for a family ticket of 5 people which cost me £120 which i thought was a bit pricey. ...
...never to go back to drayton manor, even though it was very fun and a good day out for the kids, The prices were bad!, the waiting times were bad!, and the attitude of some staff was bad! All and all i would not really recommend this theme park i have been to better and cheaper theme parks than this and had a great time with no complaints. The fact that we only got on 7 rides was ridiculous we also didnt have time to go to the zoo or thomas land. ...

Slightly dissapointed in the clothes show at the NEC

Advantages: The transport to the event was excellent. The day was well organised.
Disadvantages: Catwalk was short and dissapointing. Stalls had poor levels of stock.

The clothes show at the NEC, Birmingham was an event i thought i would enjoy being into the latest fashions. However, after attending the event on the day before it closed i was very dissapointed. Family members had been the year before and couldn't praise it enough. There wasn't much stock left from the stalls and the catwalks were not as good as we expected. This is only my opinion however it holds the view of many others that attended that day. ...

This city of stars sure lights the sky up

Advantages: Big, bright, attractive, lots to do
Disadvantages: not exactly cheap

...cinema is the best in Birmingham with maybe the AMC cinemas off broad street coming a close second. The gold class is excellent, but does not justify the higher price tag in my view. Try the experience once though, you might enjoy it. I did! THE RESTAURANTS - These are all fairly large size, and my favourites include Nandos, Burger King, La Tasca, That Mexican Place!, but there are much more, with probably something for everybody. You will usually ...
...the choice is excellent, and there are always new ones opening up. THE SHOPPING - NOT very good im afraid. Very limited choice of shops, not worth going if you just want to shop. MEGABOWL - Bowling, pool, bar, arcades, a typical megabowl, that is pretty big, and always fun. You arent allowed in after 11pm some nights. Prices for bowling depend on what time of day you come, being more expensive in the evening. CLUBBING - There is one club which used ...

An alternative to shopping in the Bullring

Advantages: Opens until 8.00pm weekdays, good range of high street shops
Disadvantages: Out of town, shops not under one building.

...was unable to go to the HMV in Birmingham's bullring (because Peter Andre was there signing copies of his new single) and was recommended to try the Fort in Castle Bromwich as this had a large HMV and other shops for last minute holiday stuff. The Fort is an out of town shopping centre and situated off the M6. It was relatively easy to get to by car but I am not sure how good the public transport links are - I saw one bus stop on the way there and ...
...and parking is free. The shops are not under one building and are all in a row in a sort of large three quarters square shape. There is a covered walkway where you have to walk to get to one shop to another. The shops are mainly made up of the Arcadia Group i.e. Topshop, Dorothy Perkins, Burton, BHS etc and there is a good range of high street women's fashion shops such as Warehouse, Next, Miss Selfridge and New Look. There was also a Marks & Spencer ...
