Advantages: There were a good selection of stalls Disadvantages: The prices charged by NEC were too high & there was no atmosphere
INTRODUCING THE FESTIVE GIFT FAIR
The gift fair runs in November and this year it ran from the 16th November till the 19th November.
I am sure quite a few of you have never heard of this event as I certainly hadn't until last year, when a relative told me about it and had a stall there this year.
The Festive Gift fair has in fact been running for 10 years at the Birmingham NEC would you believe! This is one of the largest and most busiest exhibition ... ...a year. The Festive Gift Fair is situated in hall 12 and has to be the least advertised exhibition there is.
After finding out about the show I thought I would notice it on the TV and in the newsletters like The Clothes show etc but I never did.
THE AUDIENCE THE GIFT FAIR RECIEVES
The Festive Gift Fair boasts over 26,000 visitors over the four day period.
After reading a lot of the letters that were passed on from the organisers to my relative ...
Advantages: Lots to do, not entirely weather dependant Disadvantages: hard to drag the kids away!
During the easter holidays and at a loss for things to do with the kids we came across this place in the phone book and thought we'd give it a try.
It was an immediate hit with us. With 2 children between 2 and 5 we wanted something to keep them amused for most of the day and this place provided just that.
Arrival - the parking was basically in a field which was fine in dry weather but I imagine it could get a bit sticky in the rain. We walked ... ...£4.90 for children and £3.90 for adults. The children are given a bucket of animal food each and an entry badge.
With it being spring there were lots of lambs, piglets, kids, ducklings and other babies for the kids to feed and touch. Plenty of staff on hand to answer questions. We had a wander around lots of the different enclosures including the sheep tunnel where some of the kids there got to feed a lamb and the boys made their own badges to take ...
Advantages: amazing rides, often updated Disadvantages: pricey meals and games
For me Alton Towers is the best attraction in the UK for any thrill-seeker. The rides are constantly being updated and as a result it remains one of the best theme parks in Europe. Rides such as Rita, Air, Nemesis, Ripsaw and oblivion are unmissable, but there are many other quality rides which should also be included in a days adventure such as corkscrew, the log flume and spinball whizzer. Although the park does cater for ounger visitors i would ... ...younger visitors are more restricted to what is available to them. In the park there are many food outlets and 'gambling' style games. However these can often be a quick was of doubling the amount of money you spend and i would advise to bring a few snacks and drinks instead and steer clear of the smaller pricey stalls. Getting to and then into the park is easy. It is well sign-posted and car parking is only 6 pounds, or there is a train and then ...
Advantages: Has shops Disadvantages: Doesn't really have the shops you want!
When I went to Corporation Street for the first time i was rather dissapointed. I was expecting many more shops, other than the one House of Frasier around there. The street is basically filled with bus stops and thats about it.
What it really is about Corporation Street is that it lies in the shadows of New Street and the Bullring. Those two places are the places to go when it comes to shopping, they will have the shops and the variety of products. ... ...could find what you're looking for. In addition, Corporation Street has a repetition of shops that are already on New Street and the Bullring, just smaller! So unless you dont find what you need from there, then go to Corporation Street, as it just mite have what your'e looking for. ...
Advantages: Fantastic theatre and easy to get to. Disadvantages: Too Many Stairs!
...have been performed at the Old Rep Theatre in Birmingham. So I thought I would write a review to give you a view from backstage as well as front of house and watching the performance!
*** A Little Bit Of History ***
When I first performed in The Old Rep I was aware of he fact that it is a very old building, but I had no idea of the history that was behind it until one of my friends there mentioned that there were quite a few people who are now ... ...research on this.
The Old Rep Theatre was designed and built by a man called Sir Barry Jackson in 1913 and is now a Grade II Listed Building. It only took four months to complete building the theatre and it finally opened on 15th February 1913 with a performance of Shakespeare's 'Twelfth Night'
