Brimingham has recently seen a revival and today it has become a very appealing city for any visitor. Birmingham is most likely remembered for being a grimey city where the industrial revolution was rife in the form of the various factories including the various gun makers.
However today it has transformed itself and it is now a mecca for shoppers and clubbers. The Bullring Centre has been rebuilt and now it is a bustling centre for shopping, with a huge range of stores including Debenhams, Selfridges and Next amongt many others. Shoppers also have the option to visit the numerous other centres including the rag markets, the pavillions and the Palasades. High Street stores also litter the city's roads and you are sure to find what you want in the huge selection of the specialist stores.
Not far from the city centre is the Jewellry Quater. This is still a fantastic centre for anyone searching for that perfect ring and if not the various window displays and museums are ideal for just browsing.
There are of course many other attractions for visitors to Birmingham, including The National Trust Back to Backs, The Botanical Gardens and much much more, but at the end of a long day Broad Street is the place to be. The hub of Birmingham's nightlife, this area also holds some of the city's best restaurants, but if you prefer a quieter atmosphere The Mailbox is perfect.
Costs in the second and highest city in the UK aren't too bad, although some of the more exclusive clubs on Broad Street are rather pricey (up to £10 for entry. Elsewhere the majority of thing are really cheap and many things such as browsing are free!
Getting there may also pose a problem but fear not Birmingham has 3 train stations (Moore Street, New Street and Snow Hill) providing great links to everywhere really. Locally there is also Metro which runs to Wolverhampton, great for making short excursions. Round the city the best way to get around is by bus, which is quite efficient of just walk, much faster, cheaper and cleaner!

Advantages: Cheap shopping, no end of places to go for shopping, top restaurants. Disadvantages: Street crime a plenty, *incredibly* rude locals, overcrowding.
