Express at Holiday Inn

Advantages: Good deals
Disadvantages: Can be expensive without discount

...but have recently changed to Holiday Inn Express. This is good for those not paying the bill, but can be expensive if it is coming out of your own pocket. I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express next to the NEC in Birmingham - watch out if an event is on at the NEC - the price rockets to £100 per night!! still I was not paying. The lounge area is comfortable with a small but expensive bar (the Village Inn next door is much better value). ...

Breakfast, which is included in the price is contenental but you can eat as much as you like and it was fresh and to a high standard. Good budget hotel

Advantages: Close to NEC
Disadvantages: Very poor value for money. Inefficient service.

I booked in advance through conference organisers. This was a mistake. Suggest you make own arrangement with hotel direct. I paid £135 for a small single bedded room with an old TV. I reckon I could have got this same room well under £100 if I had booked myself direct. Being the closest hotel to the NEC is probably why it is one of the most expensive. Its a Paragon of no virtues...much like myself
