At your own risk
Advantages: NONE Disadvantages: Staying there!
I stayed here earlier this week with workmates. Booked a double room, it was not the best room I've ever stayed in and was tatty but it was only for 1 night so I could put up with it. However whist we were out for dinner, the staff entered my room, packed my belongings THEN THEY RE-LET MY ROOM!!!!
I was allocated the the grottiest twin room I have ever seen, it was fithy whith marks all over the walls, stained carpet damaged furniture and extremely ... ...done so! The breafst was not much better, pre cooked and left in warmers that didn't do a good job, everything was bearly warm, the crockery was not clean. I will not stay here again nor will anybody else from my organisation. Very poor standard of accomodation with the entire place in need of decoration and a damn good clean! ...

Cant really ask for a better deal!!
Advantages: Very nice hotel, in an excellent location Disadvantages: not many for a hotel
The Days Inn is a hotel that, from the outside looks small, but trust me, looks are decieving. Facilities:
the usual for a hotel. En suite rooms, brekky available, bar, meeting rooms and an underground carpark. the rooms themselves, have an awesome power shower, and the usual trimmings, tea/coffee etc. you can get smoking as well as non smoking, and rooms are large and very comfy
Location:
The hotel is situated in the Mailbox, which if youve been, ... ...Birmingham. easy to reach from the motorway (M5 or M6), and even easier to get to if you come via train to the Birmingham New street train station. the coach station is close by too (Digbeth), literally walking distance, and hey, even the airport isnt too far (about 10-15 miles)
the location is absolutely excellent. lively place in the mailbox, with the canals, and broad street close by, which is where all the good nightclubs and bars (and more) ...

Good central location and a fair price at the Comfort Inn.
Advantages: Located next to New Street Station, Helpful staff, Nice rooms, Close to shopping centres Disadvantages: None.
I have stayed in this hotel a few times when I have needed to be in Birmingham for events at the NEC.
The hotel is more or less next door to New Street Station. In fact when you exit the station you can see the sign for the hotel over the wall on your right, and there is access via a stairway onto Station street which takes you more or less outside the door. The other alternative (maybe if you have a lot of luggage) is to walk around which is probably ... ...The check-in process for me has always been trouble free. I usually make my booking through Active Hotels as it tends to be quite a bit cheaper than booking directly with the hotel itself. The staff are always very polite and helpful and willing to assist you in any way they can. There is a smallish lift available for guest use if you don't fancy taking the stairs. I'm not sure how easy it would be for wheelchair users, but my friend was easily able ...

Meetings at the Mal - not what I expected
Advantages: Comfortable stay in a large, clean room Disadvantages: Meetings were not thought out properly
I stayed in Malmaison for a four day training course last week and I wasn’t going to write a review because it is so similar to the one I wrote on Malmaison London, I would have just repeated myself. However, there were quite a few little things that could have been improved with the meeting facilities and I thought I had to air my views!
The Room
Ok, so briefly I will write about the room. As we booked through work I assume we only had a ... ...the one we had in London. The bed was huge and there was a lot of walk round space in the bedroom. There was a large desk with broadband internet access – either from a cable or wireless, a large TV, CD player and a really big wardrobe. It was really comfortable and was air conditioned. The only thing was that the window was quite small and overlooked the Mailbox, but this was a minor fault.
The Bathroom
The bathroom had everything I would ...

Hotel Birmingham Metrpole,Birmingham
Advantages: Close to NEC Disadvantages: Very poor value for money. Inefficient service.
I booked in advance through conference organisers. This was a mistake. Suggest you make own arrangement with hotel direct. I paid £135 for a small single bedded room with an old TV. I reckon I could have got this same room well under £100 if I had booked myself direct. Being the closest hotel to the NEC is probably why it is one of the most expensive. I compared my facilities with others in different hotels. They all had better value for money. Hotel ... ...newspaper. I was charged for it but it never arrived. Then I made use of the rapid checkout service which promised a receipt would be sent on to me. This did not occur so I had to telephone the hotel for this.
In summary a very overpriced hotel for facilities offerred and service provided. ...
