My stay at the Holiday Inn, M6 J7

Advantages: Access to gym and pool, good breakfast
Disadvantages: Some noise from neighbours

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Birmingham M6, Jct. 7 last weekend. I paid £54 for two people bed and breakfast. This was direct from the Holiday Inn website and was the best I could find. It was slightly cheaper because it was advance payment, although as it was on my credit card I've still not actually paid! It was very easy to find, literally 2 mins off the M6. While the exterior did have a slight council flat look to it, the reception area was lovely. ...
...that seemed to be miles away, although we found a slightly quicker route later! The room was clean and tidy. It had a desk and chair along with a small 'dining' table and chair. There was a 'room service' service although it did look rather expensive (to be expected I suppose!). The bathroom was on the compact side, but again it was clean and all in working order. Extra Night On Holiday

Advantages: Very modern and clean, excellent food and staff
Disadvantages: None that spring to mind

Good central location and a fair price at the Comfort Inn.

Advantages: Located next to New Street Station, Helpful staff, Nice rooms, Close to shopping centres
Disadvantages: None.

I have stayed in this hotel a few times when I have needed to be in Birmingham for events at the NEC. The hotel is more or less next door to New Street Station. In fact when you exit the station you can see the sign for the hotel over the wall on your right, and there is access via a stairway onto Station street which takes you more or less outside the door. The other alternative (maybe if you have a lot of luggage) is to walk around which is probably ...
...The check-in process for me has always been trouble free. I usually make my booking through Active Hotels as it tends to be quite a bit cheaper than booking directly with the hotel itself. The staff are always very polite and helpful and willing to assist you in any way they can. There is a smallish lift available for guest use if you don't fancy taking the stairs. Rule Britannia!

Advantages: Cheap! Central Location.
Disadvantages: Soft Pillows, dirty bathroom.

dont waste your money

Advantages: close to bars and restaurants
Disadvantages: could do with a makeover of staff

...it sounded wonderful - the Ibis chain is quite a well known brand and the pictures on the internet looked very nice. However, on arrival I was somewhat dissapointed - the room was extremely basic - bed, wardrobe, dresser and (small) bathroom.
