Extra Night On Holiday

Advantages: Very modern and clean, excellent food and staff
Disadvantages: None that spring to mind

...is my review of the Novotel situated on Birmingham International Airport, opposite the main terminal building. Facilities And Services Some of the facilities at this Novotel include: Restaurant, Bar, 24-Hour Front Desk, Newspapers, Non-Smoking Rooms, Rooms / Facilities for Disabled Guests, Elevator, Express Check-In / Check-Out, Safety Deposit Box, Soundproofed Rooms, Luggage Storage. And the services provided include: Room Service, Meeting ...
...we had stayed in a Novotel before and thought we knew what to expect but this low price worried us slightly I think. Check In We parked at the car park just off the motorway and were transfered to the Novotel by coach. On arrival we realised just how close we actually were to the terminal building, we would literally just have to cross the street in the morning. We walked up the steps to the main entrance (there is a slope also) and were ...

Review of Novotel Birmingham Airport, Birmingham

Mediocre city hotel claiming four stars.

Advantages: Close to city centre, international conference centre, can get very cheap deals on the net for.
Disadvantages: Old and tired, most expensive and awful breakfast. Charging for parking.

I booked this room via active hotels for £40, room only. For only one night- and we checked in 20:00, it was acceptable. Bathroom was newly fitted, clean and roomy. Bed and beddings were very nice. But other than that, the hotel has a dated and dirty look, broken cupboards, dirty carpets and walls, peeling wallpaper etc. Especially enterence from parking lot makes you think if you made a mistake, it's like multistorey cark park stairs where somebody ...
...the morning we had the most expensive and the worst, irrespective of price, breakfast. "Continental" breakfast (£11.00) is some fruit pieces and fruit juice, cereals, bread and jam and few slices of salami. Pastries were exceptionally bad. My husband had a full breakfast (£13.00) with added English breakfast varieties but none looked appetising and he could not finish his. He says eggs were particularly bad. So if you don't have an exam starting ...

Very professional hotel, Crowne Plaza near Birmingham NEC

Advantages: Very professional service, helpful staff, large room
Disadvantages: Not the cheapest, although you get what you pay for

...review is of the hotel, Crowne Plaza, at Birmingham National Exhibition Centre (NEC). I stayed here for one night in February 2010, and was also able to eat the evening meal and breakfast in the hotel. The room was quite expensive, but was booked at quite short notice, so it wasn't possible to take advantage of the offers which I've noticed can be taken at this hotel if you're prepared to book a bit further in advance. CAR PARKING: There is a lot ...
...so you are unlikely to have problems parking. Parking is expensive, ten pounds for a day, but if you take a meal in the hotel, then they waive this car parking fee. The car parking ticket can be collected at reception when you're leaving, and the car park seemed secure and well looked after, and full of rather expensive cars! RECEPTION: The reception in the hotel was large and very clean and well organised. There were two members of staff on reception, ...

Avoid the Crowne Plaza NEC

Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Still in business

I stayed at this hotel for one night for business purposes. It was truly awful. After checking in around 2000 I tried to order room service food but after trying to get through for 20 minutes I gave up and walked to reception to place an order. I queued for 10 minutes to speak to somebody and then was told that they would not take an order at reception. I finally persuaded them to do so, to be told the food would take an hour and fifteen minutes. ...
...was over-priced and the wine I chose was unpalatable at 14 GBP - I am no expert but it was far from as described and ended up cleaning the pipework. Directly. I could not get an iron that was working to press a shirt, I couldn't get at taxi booked for me and neither my TV nor phone worked properly. Not surprised as the TV was of CRT vintage. There was no proper shower (just a hand held that you could not stand under) and the towels were so threadbare ...

A SUPERB HOTEL .

Advantages: EXCELLENT HOTEL
Disadvantages: NOTHING

Crowne Plaza Birmingham NEC My wife and I have stayed here a couple of times, always in March and yes you’ve probably guessed, it’s when Crufts is on at the NEC. Strange but a few years ago you had to book wayyy way in advance to get a room but with this recession where all going through, getting a room is easy. I suppose the stick that Crufts came under last year didn’t help either but anyhow getting back to the ...
...vary in price from £120 to £220 depending on things such as lake view, breakfast included or evening meal and breakfast. But as March approaches then the room prices tend to rocket. The room is a standard large bedroom and a bathroom. What more to add to the room? It comes with TV, Kettle, Ironing equip, small table and 2 comfy chairs. We always go for the lake view and you can watch people arriving with their assortment of pooches in the early ...
