I booked in advance through conference organisers. This was a mistake. Suggest you make own arrangement with hotel direct. I paid £135 for a small single bedded room with an old TV. I reckon I could have got this same room well under £100 if I had booked myself direct. Being the closest hotel to the NEC is probably why it is one of the most expensive. A room with a view

Advantages: Brilliant view
Disadvantages: Over Priced

Meetings at the Mal - not what I expected

Advantages: Comfortable stay in a large, clean room

Good budget hotel

Advantages: modern
Disadvantages: lack of restauarant at weekend

...have recently been refurbished, standard holiday inn express feel and design and very clean which for me is the most important thing. The bathroom was clean with a shower and shampoo and liquid soap. Tea and coffee facilities as is usual and a decent sized television with a good reception. A FAIR OLD TIME AT THE FAIRLAWNS
