Having lived in birmingham all my life it was only when i moved up north that i discovered how much i really love this city and it people.
Birmingham has everything to offer from excellent night life (the majority of which is located on one big street) to peaceful outskits. Where else outside of London has had visits from a current US president and world leaders? Birmingham is the home of the world famous Belfry Golf Club home to the Ryder cup and much much more.
I really hate it when people joke about how awful our accents are and my response is that Shakespere had a brummie accent! Birmigham is not a dump as stereotyped by many and i can think of much worse cities that actually are dumps! Birmingham is undergoing a massive redevelopment and with plans for the UK's biggest skyscraper is an excellent city in which to reside.
And when will people who try take the mickey out of the brummie accent realise that the blackcountry accent is NOT a brummie accent!
Birmingham rules!

I don't think shakespeare would have had such an accent, its only reletively recently that these regional accents have been so prounced, in Elizabethan times I dont think they would have sounded anything like any of us do now. To make this a really good review you need to include far more detail about the city and less about complaining what people think of the accent.

I'm originally from Tamworth so am pretty familiar with Birmingham. They've made some great improvements to it over the last five or ten years. Kerry x
