Blackpool Pleasure Beach

Advantages: Great rides, cheaper than some other parks
Disadvantages: Lacks the charm other parks have

I visited Blackpool Pleasure Beach last year and I thought it was great value for money. The weather in Blackpool wasnt always great during my 4 day stay but this park didnt disappoint where ride were concerned or eating out. The general atmosphere of this park is happy and fun which is great for the family however the atmosphere here is nothing compared to theme parks like Disneyland or Universal Studios, but you get what you pay for with this park ...
...loads of great rides in Blackpool Pleasure Beach, including the Pepsi Max Big One, which is a really high rolarcoaster with a massive drop, you can see all over Blackpool when your at the top of this ride. The Valhalla which is a viking themed water ride that brings you through ice cold and firey hot places while you get soaked (and I mean soaked) in the different plunges that it takes, i recommend buying the water proff pancho coats sold outside ...

A Towering Success And Towers Of Fun

Advantages: Much To Do, Fantastic Views
Disadvantages: Can be Pricy

...country. Many people flock to Blackpool in their millions every year, and thus the tower has also become a popular tourist plot for holidaymakers. The tower was constructed by Gustave Eiffel, which, if you are clever enough to work out is the same company which built the Eifel Tower in Paris a few years earlier. Although Blackpool Tower is smaller than its Foreign cousin, at 158 m (518 ft) the views are pretty impressive and no trip to Blackpool ...
...a distance, and really envelopes Blackpool as a resort. Its obvious that the people of Blackpool are proud of the iconic tower, and for this reason it acts as a beacon, symbolizing almost everything Blackpool has to offer. Look on logos, Blackpool Tower is there. Look in brochures countless pictures of Blackpool Tower are there. Go in Blackpool gift shops and hoards of Blackpool Tower merchandise is there. Perhaps then it is ironic that the tower ...

A legend in it's own right but past it's sell by date.

Advantages: Huge, will test your head for heights. Quite a long ride. A world famous record breaker.
Disadvantages: Very rough, too slow around the track after the first drop, Station announcement claims OLD record

...fear. I always remember Pepsi Max Big One, or 'The Pepsi Max' as we used to call it at school when I was a kid. I just remember it being apparently the 'biggest in the world' etc. I know now that it 'WAS' the biggest, steepest and fastest in Europe but has since been beaten in all aspects by Silver Star (Somewhere in Germany) and Stealth (Thorpe Park), which annoyed me slightly because in the station of Big One, there is still a repeated announcement ...
...entertaining and well laid out. Pepsi Max Big One will stand the test of time because of it's height and the fact it held those records for so long. That is all. I'm still annoyed that the announcement in the station still claims it as a record holder though because that's false and has been for over 7 years! ...

Valhalla; a wet but hot ride.

Advantages: Fun, scary
Disadvantages: scary, YOU WILL END UP WET!!!!!!

Valhalla is a log flume based ride which is based on vikings. It is a ride which can be enjoyed by everybody, especially those young adults. The viking ships, which seats about 12 people add a bonus to that scary but fun ride. It is quite dark which also adds to the scary experience! I would recommend it to those older children as it is quite scary but if your brave, then maybe this is your ride. At the final descending point, it is very dark and ...
...moment you also get photographed by the camera. After that you move into a pitch black room which suddenly lights up with lots of pyrotechnics. it gives you a little fright but is humid so it could in fact dry you off a bit. After the ride, you will feel very wet and soggy, so prepare with a valhalla raincoat or a waterproof. if you didnt, you can get airdried by a massive air dryer which dries you off in a couple of minutes. The rides ends and lands ...

The Perfect Holiday Makers Paradise

Advantages: lots of shops, shelter from rain, perfect for holiday makers, good shops
Disadvantages: Probably will be expensive, lots of building work for locals.

Houndshill shopping centre used to be full of shops like gift shops and clothes shops now though it’s in the middle of refurbishment. There are still a few shops that remain namely Mark One, Dorothy Perkins, Early Learning and Superdrug. Blackpool is undergoing a lot of changes right now and Houndshill shopping centre is in phase 2. Eventually the perfect Houndshill shopping centre will have large floor plates in a covered environment. The only ...
...opened in spring 2008. Houndshill shopping centre is situated in the centre of Blackpool by the Blackpool Tower complex. It’s right by the prom and opposite Kentucky Fried Chicken. Houndshill shopping centre was never anything special, but it sounds to be very promising. I am looking forward to see the changes since I’ve lived in Blackpool from the age of 2 and Houndshill shopping centre has been a big part of my shopping life. My only concern ...
