"Ripley's Believe It Or Not!" - Blackpool - A review
Advantages: Lots of info, lots of variety and shelter from weather Disadvantages: Prices could be less steap
Ripley's Believe It Or Not! is situated on Blackpool's front where thousands of tourists come and visit all the time. Ripley's.. is a great place for a family, however some younger children may find some parts frightening. The prices arn't too good, but there acceptable. When me and my dad visited recently, I think it cost us just over £10, and I'm 16 so I'm not sure if they classed me as a child or an adult, but I would assume an adult.
The whole ... ...the world, each with a lot of information concerning it which means you can read up on things that catch your eye - pretty much all of it! For example, one of the first displays in the place is a range of "freak animals" such as a sheep with 6 legs, a cow with 2 heads, things like this.
In the same room, theres also a display of different people from centuarys ago, one including a man who had a candle at the tip of his head sprouting out of his ...

The North Pier, Blackpool
Advantages: Lots of fresh air, fully accessible by disabled visitors Disadvantages: A small admission charge
If you think about the main English seaside resorts then the chances are that they will have a pier. There is something very quintessentially English about seaside piers and in Britain they are largely restricted to England, with a handful in Wales and none at all north of the border in Scotland.
Blackpool in the north west of England is unusual because it boasts three different piers. The North Pier, Central Pier and South Pier. As its name suggests ... ...three. It is also the oldest pier in the town and at 503 metres long it is also its longest pier.
Eugenius Birch was drafted in to design The North Pier. He had been responsible for the design of Britain's first seaside pier at Margate. This was his second pier project and following its success he would go on to design a further twelve English piers and the name Euginius Birch would soon become synonymous with English seaside piers for eternity. ...

Immesrse Your Senses
Advantages: Looks Great, Rides Good, Great For Pleasure Beach Disadvantages: Can Be Rough In Places
Pleasure Beach Resort (ala Pleasure Beach Blackpool, Blackpool Pleasure Beach etc) has played homage to many traditional and coming of age attractions since it first opened its gates in the late 1800's. Amongst other things the park leads its valley fair with some of the greatest wooden roller coasters on the planet, and thus can also boast about being in connection with some of the greatest roller coaster designers the world has ever seen (Charles ... ...multi million pound steel beacon, world famous Arrow Dynamics coaster Pepsi Max Big One cartwheels through the park along its Bolton designed tubed track one can only look in amazement to splendor how generations have changed, and so smoothly it must be said. Infusion is the latest in the generation whirlwind of coasters to hit the shores of Blackpool. The £8million Vekoma designed Suspended Looping Coaster (SLC) had previously been in operation ...

2007 Shows, North Pier Theatre, Blackpool
Advantages: Nostalgic, family entertainment at a fair price. Disadvantages: The weather! Good eating houses away from the Pier are a long walk.
Having visited the North Pier Theatre in July 2007 to see two shows, namely Music Music Music and Liberace Live From Las Vegas, I was highly impressed with the quality of the entertainment and was dismayed to hear that the Theatre might be closed for 2008. Fortunately, this is not to be and it now looks as if there will be a full season of great entertainment, which is I gather, presented by the same people who presented the two 2007 shows that I ... ...used to be The Black and White Minstrel Show, although political correctness prevented the company from 'blacking-up'. There were songs in the 'old' tradition of George Mitchell and the cast contained original Minstrels cast members Bob Hunter and Les Want who were supported by a very lively company, The Minstrel Maids with some absolutely stunning costumes and The Michael Wooldridge Showband.
If anyone is still in any doubt as to whatever happened ...

This is in Blackpool, You're Joking?
Advantages: Interesting, Different, and strangely odd! Disadvantages: Limited parking
...centre in the middle of Blackpool Illuminations mentioning the virtues of saving energy, recycling and sustainabiity.
First impressions - two fairly large wind turbines at the front of the building. Well there is always plenty of wind!
I knew this building as the Harrowside Solarium. It originally had citrus trees inside. Apparently it was rather well to do in its early days. It then became a cafe. Understandably expenses were high. There is no ... ...building on seafront before Squires Gate. Proprieters came and then went. It stood vacant for a while. For a considerable time the locals were concerned at the dilapidation. It became unfeasable to restore back to its original purpose. I don't think a private individual could have afforded to put it right.
It is on one floor and stretches a some way back from the seafront. It is not set on the sea side of the prom, but on the other side of the road. ...
