Needs knocking down! Don't take your kids after 4pm!
Advantages: Some good attractions, good for stag do's/hen do's Disadvantages: Run down, dirty, not good for children after 4pm
...my partner and baby visited Blackpool in May, along with a group of friends and their family. We chose Blackpool because of its status of a "family" location, however, were quite shocked by the state of the town now. As with any town, there was roadworks and renovations, However Blackpool seemed to be very dirty, urine soaked doorways, shut up shops, chewing gum encrusted pathways (and buildings!). You couldn't see the sea because of the amount of ... ...about what kind of place Blackpool becomes at night. There was already a lot of drunken people around and being very lairy. I didn't want to stick around, especially as my baby was with me so we headed back to the hotel.
If you are going solely for a night out with friends, stag do etc then i've no doubt you will have a good time. In my opinion its not really a place for children. When I was a child Blackpool was fantastic, we enjoyed the Pleasure ...

Getting around in 'Pool
Advantages: Great public transport and plenty of car parking Disadvantages: Alot of bus routes that could confuse some people
BLACKPOOL EXPERIENCE - GETTING AROUND In this review I have summarised the main ways of getting to, and around in, Blackpool. Most of my direct experience has been by public transport as I have only recently passed my driving test and have not driven much in Blackpool. I have, however, seen my parents driving around and parking.
CAR
Blackpool is easily reached by car having it’s own direct link to the national motorway network at the M6 along the ... ...at www.blackpooltransport.com. Makin' Waves
Advantages: Nice waterpark, kids will love it Disadvantages: Very overpriced
Sandcastle Water Park bills itself as the UK’s largest water park. It is on Blackpool’s promenade right next to South Pier and those familiar with the climate in the North of England will be glad to know that the attraction is indoors. The kids were desperate to visit this park after we read about it online before visiting Blackpool so we headed there on a wet day. I was shocked at the admission charges, an adult pays £14.20 for admission to the ... ...Away from the poolside Sandcastle have designed more ways to part you from your cash with a souvenir shop, the amusement arcades which you can never escape in Blackpool and an overpriced coffee shop in the entrance although thankfully the paninis and coffee are better quality than those offered by the poolside. The kids aged 12 loved Sandcastle Waterpark and would happily go back again. The adults were not quite so impressed, yes the pools were nice ...

Underneath The Tarnished Reputation Theres Still A Gem
Advantages: Lots of family seaside fun, a great break with kids, can be done on a budget, fab attractions Disadvantages: Can be busy in peak, some really tacky areas, some attractions are expensive and not so good.
...the same negative opinion of Blackpool as lots of people. It had been around 25 years since I was last there, as a child on a trip with my Mum and a couple of aunt's and cousins. My memories included wet, grey and cold 'miserable' weather, finding the B&B we had booked into was awful (when the landlady answered the door with a black eye it was definitely a sign of things to come, and us kids were terrified when fighting broke out on the landing...we ... ...here and no visit to Blackpool beach would be complete without it. The donkeys seem really well cared for and are very friendly. They are, rightly so, restricted in their hours of work so won't be there all day and are prohibited from working on a Friday...even the donkeys need a day off after all. I really like the beach on a clear evening. The sun sets right into the sea and it's an impressive sight in the right conditions, with the sea sparkling ...

Blackpool not the ideal family holiday location anymore!
Advantages: good if you want to get drunk Disadvantages: run down, rough, needs a good regeneration project
I visited Blackpool last month- May- along with my friends and their babies. We were hoping to have an exciting family holiday at a town well known for it's family appeal, however, were quite shocked by the state of the town now. As well as the usual roadworks and building work which come with every town, Blackpool seemed to have a lot of falling down buildings, shut up shops and even a few burnt out bars! Almost every street was full of litter and ... ...about what kind of place blackpool becomes at night. From what I can conclude this one family orinetated town is definitely more geared towards the tacky hen do/stag parties and even then they aren't that amazing with it allbeing so run down. The family side of things has definitely been let slip. I felt dirty and uncomfortable there which was a great shame as I have happy memories of visiting Blackpool myself when I was young.
It is definitely ...
