The Elgin hotel, Blackpool Advantages: lovely food and good service from the waiters Disadvantages: Everthing else about the place ...meal). The hotel was the Elgin and we were told that this was a great hotel for families. Arriving at the hotel We arrived at our hotel at about 7.30pm and had to que at the reception to get our keys this I didnt mind but our dinner was at 7.45pm and we still had to get our luggage to our room, we got our luggage sorted and went down for dinner, the food was beautiful and the service from the waiters was fantastic. First impressions of the hotel ... ...hotel, but due to the Elgin hotel and The Belfast Telegraph travel agents, our holidays was ruined to a certain degree, although we tried not to let it spoil things and enjoyed everything else about Blackpool. So if your going to Blackpool on a family hoilday avoid The Elgin Hotel like the plague, NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL. Fab hotel in Blackpool great people, great prices Advantages: Clean, friendly, comfortable well run hotel with very affordable prices and fantastic food! Disadvantages: You dont want to leave The Vidella hotel is situated in the heart of Blackpool, just off the main beach road, within easy walking distance of all the top attractions and shopping, The Hotel (English tourist board 3 diamond rating) The hotel is a medium sized "gay friendly" hotel that caters for everyone, it has about 30 rooms all of which are en-suite, and all have the normal tea/coffee making facilities, phone and TV that you get in most places. There is parking for ... ...facilities mentioned above the Vidella do not charge for single occupancy either, which is great if you are traveling on your own the rates start from about £30 per night which includes B&B and evening meal although you can stay just on a Bed and breakfast basis which is slightly cheaper but be assured with the quality home cooked food served you probably won't want to eat anywhere else. More than just a bedford the night!!! Advantages: Location, price Disadvantages: Breakfast/checkout times I stayed here in November 07 and after reading various reviews I was a bit unsure what to expect. However, when we arrived I was very pleasantly surprised. First of all there was a big car park which is quite unusual for Blackpool as there's usually only room for 10 cars at the most. When we checked in we were given the room key but as well as the room key we also had our own personal front door key so that we didn't have to ring the bell and wait ... ...We got into our room which was quite spacious. There was 2 of us, myself, and my sister so we'd booked a twin room for £60 for 1 night but the room actually had a double bed and a single bed in there. It was basic but clean and comfortable. The location is perfect for a night out; it's only about a five minute walk to the nightlife although we got a taxi. Can't be walking for 5 minutes in heels. A quieter side to Blackpool. Advantages: Clean, friendly and great value for money. Disadvantages: None worthy of mention during my two night stay. ...my business trip was the Belgrave Madison hotel, this hotel was recommended to me by a friend and I was very happy with his recommendation. My friend had told me of the great service, friendly atmosphere and the disconnection with what Blackpool is all about (ie) noise and hustle and bustle, and he was 100% correct. The hotel is situated in a much quieter part of Blackpool, it sits on the queen’s promenade, north shore, it is actually right on the ... ...the famous pleasure beach. The Belgrave Madison is ideally situated for business trips or for people looking for a quieter Blackpool break, you are far enough away from the hustle and bustle to get a relaxed feeling and a good night’s sleep but if you want to get involved in the typical Blackpool fun it is only ten minutes away. A nice little central hotel within Blackpool Advantages: Big Bar, Centrally located within Blackpool Disadvantages: Room Size There was a group of us that stayed in the hotel. When we first arrived that was no parking around the hotel which i was a little disappointed by this but I found a multi storey car park that was near by and cost about a tenner, which was good value for 3 days. I was sharing a twin room with my brother and we found that it was a little small for two straping lads. The hotel was within a walking distance to the pubs and shops. The downstair bar is ...
