Blackpool Pleasure Beach was originally founded by Alderman William George Bean in 1896. The first original ride was the Flying Machines which to this day are still one of the most popular rides on the site. There are now over 125 attractions on the park itself. There are on average 6.2 million visitors every year and it is still England s most visited resort. Having lived in Blackpool my Entire life I feel as though I can provide people with honest relevant reviews of this attraction.

There are various rides actually on site ranging from white knuckle to gentle kiddies rides. The most recent one on this list is the Infusion which I am pleased to tell you went out on its first of many maiden voyages. This is the world's first rollercoaster which is actually situated above water. I can't wait to try this one out! Its official open date has yet to be declared all we know is that it will be at some point in April. The park itself is surrounded by on site amusement arcades filled with all the latest games and dance machines. Also situated around the edges are the show bars. These are known as the Horse Shoe Bar where shows such as Mystique take place. The Globe is where The Eclipse show happens. Last but not least you can find the Hot Ice Show in The Arena. All of these shows have disabled access. The globe has a ramp going up to the front door for easy access. The Horseshoe bar only has access for wheelchairs on the promenade entrance. For wheelchair access to the hot ice show you will have to cut through the T-Café.

First Aid can be found opposite the Gold Mine where there is always a fully first aid trained member of staff. Although there is only a small number of wheelchairs available for hire. The prices on these change every season and a deposit is required. This deposit can only be taken from a credit card as Cash is not accepted. The majority of the rides do actually have a wide enough ramp for the wheelchair to go next to side to side. You will have to make your own way from your wheelchair to the seat on the ride, but help is available. At the moment there are only three restaurants that currently have wheelchair access these are: The Beach Restaurant, Fish Inn, White Tower restaurant. The many other eating places can be accessed by wheelchair uses with help. The staff are very friendly and are willing to offer a hand when asked. Guide dogs are also permitted on site although the must be on a lead. For obvious reasons dogs are not permitted to ride on the attractions.

There are only three places at the moment that accommodate baby changing facilities these are located in the well known super loos. There is one located opposite the Alice in wonderland ride. One across from space invaders 2 and one also on beaver creek. There are plenty of toilet facilities located through out, many of these are in the eating areas and dotted around different points. Please note though it does cost twenty pence to go to the toilet! There are more than enough places to park; there are five official pleasure beach car parks which are located at:

North Entrance (Balmoral Road)
South Entrance (Ocean Boulevard)
East Car Park (Bond Street)
Arena (Watson Road)
West Car Park (Ocean Boulevard)
Railway Station Car Park

Apart from these there are many other places to park as various car parks are dotted all over the resort, there are charges for using these and you will be clamped if you do not pay and display.

For all those who want to stay over night the pleasure beach now has its very own hotel called "The Big Blue" Prices start at around £120 for a family of four sharing including a wristband. The hotel is located precisely next door so its not far to walk but be warned it can get very noisy as you are able to hear the sound of rumbling rollercoaster's now and again. I would recommend staying in the town centre as there is more to do there and the only thing actually available in the south shore area is the pleasure beach. There are plenty of different ride to enjoy, definitely something for the whole family. The long running shows are Mystique, Hot Ice and The Eclipse, there are various other shows that change season by season. This season's are: The Drifters, Pj Proby, Ken Webster and the ice skating festival.

The Rides
---------------

Alice In wonderland
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A fantasy ride with strobe lighting goes very slowly.
Avalanche
~~~~~~~~
A bobsleigh type ride that can be turbulent at times

Alpine Golf
~~~~~~~~~
A crazy Golf Course
Big Dipper
~~~~~~~~~
A rollercoaster standing at 125feet looks a bit scary.

Bling
~~~~~
Fancy being swung 360degrees at 60mph whilst being 100feet up in the air? Then this is for you.
Chinese puzzle Maze
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I would recommend you visit this last as it is very easy to get lost and be stuck in there for hours on end.

Derby Racer
~~~~~~~~~~
This is a carousel for the older children and adults. The inside horses go faster than the outside so stick the kiddies on the outside ones.
Dodgems
~~~~~~~~~
Self Explanatory really

The Convoy Ride
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A Slow moving ride which isn't much fun
Flying Machines
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The very first ride installed at Blackpool pleasure beach, I still get panicky thinking one of them is going to fall off!

Gallopers
~~~~~~~~~
Your bog standard carousel ride
Ghost Train
~~~~~~~~~~

~~~~~~~
Made its first maiden voyage today, it won't official open until the middle of April though, but it's the world's first rollercoaster situated entirely above water.
IRN BRU revolution
Fancy doing a loop the loop then doing it backwards? Then this is for you! Its orange and blue you cant miss it, shame about all those stairs.
Grand Prix
~~~~~~~~~
Self driving mini cars perfect for all you budding racing drivers.

Monorail
~~~~~~~~
Perfect for grandparents, stick them on here for half an hour and they will be happy.
Spin Doctor
~~~~~~~~~~
Get spun round at 360 degrees at 60mph at 120feet pretty much the same as bling but above water.

Steeplechase
~~~~~~~~~~~
A horse racing rollercoaster, I have always been frightened of falling of this one so I have yet to try it.
Superbowl
~~~~~~~~~
These are Dodgems

Swamp Buggies
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Little boats that float around and seat two people, used to be called Tom Sawyers ride
Trauma Towers
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A exciting walk through ride, this is now the haunted hotel and the taganda mixed together.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was absolutely terrified on this I thought I was going to die! The cart kept going up on two wheels! I nearly wet myself!
That's it for the adult rides there are also lots of children's rides located in the beaver creek area of the park. These are your average rides consisting of tea cup rides, little rollercoaster's and helicopter rides.
