A trip to Bluewater is a wheelchair persons dream? Why? Because when it was planned they must have thought about the design and how we would actually get around the Centre. On arrival, which is very easily signposted from The M2 or Dartford Tunnel Crossing you are greated with street signs showing disabled parking facilities. There is a Shopmobility there where you can loan equiptment including wheelchairs or scooters. You can join up and book in advance or turn up on the day where you take a chance on getting the equipment you need. Shopmobility is situated at the yellow entrance but is signposted all the way through the site. Parking is straightforward and right outside the entrance to Shopmobility. Through the automatic doors, up a gradual slope and there it is. Freedom and easy shopping and I mean easy. Access into all areas. Disabled toilets. Automatic lifts that talk to you on entry, so you don't even have to be able to reach the buttons. No nasty glass lifts, so when you go in you feel as though you are going to fall through the other side. Plenty of places to eat and drink. Bluewater is on two levels and is circular so you can't get lost. You start a one point and go forward and you eventually get to where you started from! The only way is up or down. Its well lit, has security camera's and is not at all clostrophobic. Its is very airy and spacious and for the able bodied or the walking wounded there are plenty of places to park your butt, or stop for coffee/tea. There is also Valet Parking. Very friendly and helpfull staff and it is a stress free day's shopping. A shop till you drop experience or in my case, till I've run out of money or Shopmobility closes. The shops range from the big Name Stores such as John Lewis's to smaller designer shops and all sorts of shops with different nicknaks. Chocolate shops with a difference - yummy! Florists with exotic flowers and wonderful blooms.
