One of my most favourite things to do is to shop!! I love it, even when I have no money I can't stop myself!!! The best place I have found to go on a shopping trip is Bluewater, in Kent.
The shopping centre has every shop you could imagine, with department stores (John Lewis, House Of Fraser and Marks & Spencer), clothing stores, music and video stores, shoe stores, a cinema, jewellery, beauty products etc and a huge food hall!! It is layed out in a triangle shape so you can easily walk around the mall without getting lost. The shops are arranged over two levels.
Bluewater is located near to Greenhithe in Kent. It is just off the M25/A2 and is very easy to get to if you are travelling by car-it is sign posted from all major routes. You can go by train from London Charing Cross to Greenhithe and then take a shuttle bus (which takes 5 minutes). This is a very useful service and is no extra charge if you have a train ticket. It takes about an hour in total from central London but it is worth it!! I much prefer to go to Bluewater than Oxford Street - everything is under one roof and simply has a really nice atmosphere.
Bluewater is open from 10am until 9pm Monday to Friday, 9am - 8pm on Saturday and 11am - 5pm on Sundays. These hours are great if you work throughout the week as you have plenty of time to go after office hours.
There is the option to stop and eat in a nice restaurant - a selection from TGI's, Harry Ramsden, La Tasca, Pizza Express, Tootsies and Nandos. Also, there is a fast food hall with KFC, Pizza Hut, Burger King, Chinese, Indian, and a range of sandwich shops. There are also many toilets, phone booths and benches situated around the mall. Plus information desks are located near to each entrance and maps of the shopping mall are provided for customers. There is also a cheche for children aged between 2 and 8 and also a day nursery.
There are car parks situated all around the shopping centre and parking is free - but make sure you remember the colour of the car park you are in!!
If you visit www.bluewater.co.uk you are able to plan your day ahead by taking a virtual tour and checking out the store guide. You can then decide exactly which stores you want to visit before you even arrive.
Going to Bluewater was one of the best shopping experiences I have had, I had a thoroughly enjoyable day out

I am currently working on a project for the BBC and am looking to speak to people that use and love Bluewater.
If you think that you fit the bill, please email me at jennifer.forde@bbc.co.uk
I look forward to hearing from you,
Best wishes,
Jennifer.
