Shopping in my hometown of Liverpool is great when you compare it with other small towns and cities. There are hundreds of shops crammed into one small area.
The area I am writing this opinion on though is BOLD STREET. Bold street is situated off the main area of Church street and is the place to be seen with trendy bars and bar cafes.
Starting from the top as we go down the road there is a... >Barclays Bank >Liverpool shop >Coffee union >Dane furniture >Bar Tabac >Waterstones.
In between all of these shops you will find some great little shops like Chandlers, Home and Bargain, Maggie Mays coffee house, The works books and lots more.
Leading off this road is Liverpool Central station which takes you to other areas of the city pretty quick. Also busses are available at either end of the road.
There are about 12 cafe's on or just leading off BOLD STREET and alltogether about 25 pubs and trendy bars. Bold street attracts the majority of the crowd and therefore opening a bar here would be perfect for business.
All in All though this road is very great, involving safe padestrian walkways, foreign shops and an area where different cultures can interact.
More information on Bold street and indeed on many other areas of the city can be found on www.icliverpool.co.uk and also you gan get more information by visiting the visitors centre at the Albert dock. Also call 01517088574 or 09066806886.
Advantages: many specialist shops, cosmopolitan, international-feeling, café-bars Disadvantages: only pedestrianised until half-way, too narrow for many street cafés (which would fit in perfectly!)
Bold Street is essentially the continauation of Church Street. Starting from Central Station, the narrow street climbs a hill, which, although not very steep, is noticeable. The narrow street has some of the best shops in Liverpool. While all the big national chainstores are on Church Street and Lord Street, Bold Street is home to many more specialist and designer shops. Bold Street is also capital for café-bars. There are lots of shops on Bold Street, ... ...Liverpool World Shop, that give the whole street a young, cosmopolitan and vibrant feeling to it. The street is only pedestrianised half way, and I think this limits the popularity of the top half - and this is reflected by the quality of the shops there, which is not as high as the lower half. ...

Advantages: Tasty and healthy Disadvantages: need more branches, one next door would be ideal!
As you may know Subway is a fastfood chain that sell bagettes (on a variety of breads, personal favourite Parmesan Oregano)with a variety of fillings, hot or cold. Some people have said in the past that the food you get from Subway is basically just expensive sandwiches, however, these freaks are few and far between. Most people appreciate the beauty that is a Subway sandwich.
The food while not the cheapest, about £2.50 for a subway melt with honeymustard sauce and jalapenos and onions (highly recommended) it is not bad in comparison to a meal at MacDonalds. In addition it is both healthier and tastier. To cancel out the healthy nature of the sandwich I recommend getting a few cookies (3 for 99p) which are absolutely superb.

Advantages: Excellent variety of shops, reasonable prices. Disadvantages: Very busy of a weekend
One of the best alternative shopping experiences in Liverpool is the Palace. The Palace can be found on Slater Street which is a small road just off BoldStreet.
The Palace consists of 3 floors containing a mixture of various shops selling things from clothes, recordsa, video games, drug paraphenaelia and many other unusual things. It is very popular with young people and teenagers but is frequented by all ages.
On the third floor, there is a lovely bar called the 'Baa Bar' where you can sit and enjoy the excellent food or just relax over a drink.
There is also an excellent Piercing Studio on the third floor that does every piercing imaginable! ...
Asha is located right in the City Centre on busy BoldStreet. The décor is quite pleasant with several alcoves for a more intimate meal complete with Indian style wall hangings etc. The selection of food available is quite comprehensive and the quality of the food itself is pretty good. The prices are quite reasonably and the level of service offered is acceptable.
Be warned though that after midnight this restaurant will quickly fill up with inebriated clubbers after having enjoyed the excess of a night on the beer. If this doesn't bother you then it can be quite entertaining, otherwise steer clear.
This is definitely one of the best Indian Restaurants in the City Centre although real curry connoisseurs should consider the trip out to The Gulshan which has recently been voted 'Best Indian Restaurant in the North'. ...
