Bold Street is essentially the continauation of Church Street. Starting from Central Station, the narrow street climbs a hill, which, although not very steep, is noticeable. The narrow street has some of the best shops in Liverpool. While all the big national chainstores are on Church Street and Lord Street, Bold Street is home to many more specialist and designer shops. Bold Street is also capital for café-bars. There are lots of shops on Bold Street, like Waterstones and Dillons, like the YHA Adventure Shop, the Liverpool World Shop, that give the whole street a young, cosmopolitan and vibrant feeling to it. The street is only pedestrianised half way, and I think this limits the popularity of the top half - and this is reflected by the quality of the shops there, which is not as high as the lower half.
