At the gates of the greatest vintages of the world, at some
miles of the Atlantic Ocean, Bordeaux put a point of honor to
develop its exceptional architectural and cultural heritage. Such
point that it was indicated " Town of Art " by the ministry for the
Culture in 1978. This reward, perfectly justified, makes it possible
to guess the extent of the monuments, museums, rooms of art or places
which make the pride of the capital of Aquitaine. During my many
voyages, I was brought to discover in-depth this city, and eager to
share my knowledge with the ciao users, I propose one to you strolls "
virtual " of Bordeaux. In a slapping of finger, I send to you on the
great place of the Quincunxes which dominates the quays of Bordeaux.
Such your guide, I open the gates of Bordeaux to you (I yes hope for
that I did not forget the keys... see see, it is good I have them!).

First of all, from a geopolitical point of view, Bordeaux constitutes
the principal agglomeration of the south-west of France, and its
220000 inhabitants are managed since 1995 per Alain Juppé. Bordeaux
is very well served by the various means of transport, and more
particularly, it is possible to carry out the Paris way - Bordeaux in
a little more than 3 hours thanks to the TGV. But, historically,
Bordeaux is especially famous for its harbour activities which have
enabled to him to build its fortune gradually, and this in particular
thanks to the not very creditable triangular trade, during XVII th
century. Indeed, come to make a rapid walk on the quays, and you will
find this print on the dwellings cossues. In addition,
Bordeaux, even if it is with a less degree, fact part today still of
the commercial ports most significant of Europe.

But Bordeaux, it is especially as I said it to you a town of art,
whose apotheosis is in the Bordeaux old town. This historical district
gathers very old monuments, worked and carved, and I thus advise you
to make a pedestrian visit in one of the most beautiful places of the
city. While speaking about beautiful monuments, if you are
impassioned of archaeology, I very highly encourage you to discover
the site paleo-Christian of Bordeaux, which proposes more than 400 m²
of archaeological excavations exposed within the framework of old a
necropolis Gallo-Roman.This site is Place of the Martyrs of Resistance and the various
remainders are very interesting. A true diving in the remote History
of Bordeaux! Lastly, to enclose with the monuments, I recommend the
convent of Annonciades to you. This religious monument dating from
XVIème century shelters a cloister of the Rebirth, a gothic vault
and a setting with the tomb of XVIème century. This space is very
resting and I ensure you that if you choose to visit Bordeaux in
full heart of the summer, you will not regret this choice!

Moreover, Bordeaux is famous for the quality of its museums, with in
background celebrates it Musée of Aquitaine. True memory of the 5
departments of Aquitaine (Batch and the Garonne, the Gironde, Moors,
the Pyrenees the Atlantic, the Dordogne), this museum offers a vast
collection centered over prehistory, the Gallo-Roman time, the Average
Age and the period active of the Traditional Age until XIV th
century.

But the cultural richness of Bordeaux is not declined only in the
shape of museums. I would be tempted to say that on the contrary in
fact the books constitute the most significant inheritance of
Bordeaux. Indeed, Bordeaux is often called the city of the 3 M,
because Mauriac, Montesquieu and Malraux lived there! Thus, if want
to know in-depth the literature of Bordeaux, read some works of these
3 writers, which will enable you with the passage to impregnate
yourselves history and Dy style of Bordeaux.

This point of my description of Bordeaux, I feel that the ciao user
waits impatiently until I speak about what makes the world fame of
Bordeaux. Under the popular pressure, I execute (without pun!).
Indeed, as each one knows it, Bordeaux is the world capital of the
wine. And even if they is especially the area voisinnes which
provides red nectar (Saint Emilion for example), it is Bordeaux which
inherited the common appelation! And concretely, if you to wish at a
single glance to discover all the treasures of the ground of Bordeaux,
will attend the VINORAMA. It is the history of the wine of Bordeaux
for the Gallo-Roman time our days told by 75 dressed up wax
characters, in the form of wired for sound scenes! Frankly, this
spectacle is magic and extraordinary.

Lastly, to finish, I would like to say that Bordeaux is also a town of
sport, with football like cornerstone, and even if I am very far from
being to support the Of Gironde ones, I must recognize that the team
who occur at the Chalban Delmas Stadium (old Lescure Stadium) is of very
good invoice and constitutes one of best the formations of the
héxagone. But it would be unjust to forget the other sports which
make the pride of the city, like the handball, volley ball, swimming,
etc. Thus is completed this trotts city. Of course, it is necessary
other to visit, but I think of having brushed the principal aspects of
Bordeaux! In your turn maintaining to discover the remainder!
