Advantages: Excellent atmosphere at the campsite and festival site, excellent musical line-up and diversity Disadvantages: It's in France! (although could be an advantage, as its a festival and a holiday in one!)

As anyone who has driven the full distance knows a driving holiday to Italy makes for a long journey. You need somewhere to stop and break the journey along the way and the eastern side of France is a good choice. The region to the West of Switzerland is known as the Jura. The main towns are Besancon and Belfort.
The campsite at Rougemont is between these 2 towns and sits in a quiet completely undeveloped part of France. The site is hidden within this beautiful area but once you reach it, it is a true gem of a place. It is set on a large lake which you can swim in or hire a canoe to use on. There is also fishing permitted along some of the banks of the lake. For swimming the lake slopes in very gently and is quite safe. The area around it is grassy and perfect for sunbathing. Advantages: Clean,beautiful,romantic. Beers are nice! Disadvantages: busy on weekends,not too much to do
our double room a bit on the small side, though it was very clean and well equipped. The staff were also very friendly,knowledgeable and helpful with any queries we had.
Having said that,i f i were to go for a second trip,and if i was a bit more "financially free" :) i would probably opt for the fabulous looking L'orangerie hotel, which is widely recieved as the best hotel in the centre of bruges.
on the first day that we were there, we first had breakfast in one of the cafes in the main marketplace, or Markt. It was a beautiful sunny day, and the square itself is so full of character and history that you could happily sit there for hours soaking up the atmosphere.
