Our room was stunning and decorated in a totally unique and really funky way- it was small but had everything we needed. The bathroom was mosaic and had a deep sunken jacuzzi bath and speakers so you could listen to music or the TV from the other room. The toiletries and things provided were really nice and you definately felt like you were staying in a posh boutique hotel! For excellent pictures and more details I would recommend their website http://www.boscolohotels.com/eng/hotels/aleph/5star_hotel_rome.htm
The room was facing into a small courtyard with many other buildings around and it was a shame there was not a view but we did not spend very much time in there- there was a nice sitting room area downstairs by reception which was red and 'hell' themed with big oriental statues and a really cool bar area.
There was also a rooftop restaurant which we visited and looked really beautiful but was a bit expensive for us....
The heaven part came into play in the basement where the gym, spa and pool facilities are located. This was a little dissapointing, with the pool looking a lot bigger on the website then it actually is- it is unsuitable for swimming- but there was a steam room and sauna, a few machines and a calming relaxation room in the old safe as the building used to be a bank.
Breakfast was ok with a choice of cereals, juices and fruits as well as hot choices however we got there quite late and most of it had gone so it was difficult to judge- there is also a fantastic bakery over the road for yummy snacks!
Overall I would definately recommend Hotel Boscolo as it is in an excellent location- we walked to pretty much all the sights and it is a bit different- the decor is really cool and it's a fun place to stay for a couple of nights on a short break.
