Boscolo Grand Palace Hotel, Rome

Advantages: Funky Theme, really nice room, Central Location
Disadvantages: Small pool/ gym area

...We booked Hotel Boscolo online through Expedia.com and got a really good last minute deal. We drove there- it was quite difficult to find down a small street and we had to pay for valet parking as you may expect in central Rome but the concierge were really friendly and helpful as were the reception staff- we booked a double room but were upgraded as they had space which was a nice touch. Our room was stunning and decorated in a totally unique and really funky way- it was small but had everything we needed. The bathroom was mosaic and had a deep sunken jacuzzi bath and speakers so you could listen to music or the TV from the other room. The toiletries and things provided were really nice and you definately felt like you were staying in a posh boutique hotel! For excellent pictures and more details I would recommend their website... ...Hotel La Rovere - Via di Sant'Onofrio 4 00165 - Rome (three Stars) INTRODUCTION: Well this was my second trip to the Eternal City and I wanted to be a little closer than last time to some of the sights we wanted to see. So with the aid of the internet and Autoroute I found a hotel that looked OK and was fairly close to the Vatican and Castle d'Angelo - the Hotel la Rovere. The description made it sound like a reasonable hotel though not the cheapest and the pictures of the rooms looked OK too. We took a taxi from the airport - those of you who have done this will know that there are more thrills in a taxi ride in Rome than any theme park ride! So scary I hardly opened my eyes to see some of the sites we were passing. Luckily it is not a hugely long trip and our taxi pulled up rather hesitantly in front of a flat fronted building... ...The imperial palace is the best building in the world , it is so big and menacing . Rome is a very picturesque city with beautiful venues and people!!!!!! The best way to travel around Rome is on moped , it gives u a better view and feel of the city. The vatican is absoulutely amazing , how can one man michaelangelo do such good artwork in one lifetime a true great . Rome is also an exceptional place to shop, the amount of quality shops like diesel , gucci are just amazing. All of the people are very friendly and very organised . The best place to eat in Rome value for money is probably spizzico or Damiano's pizza place absoulutely fantastic. ROME A MUST FOR ALL PEOPLE... Read review
