Just not nice!
Advantages: They say it's the best hotel in Tuzla Disadvantages: boring, tasteless, uncomfortable
My experience with the Tuzla Hotel is rather unpleasant…And my husband and I had to tolerate it for two weeks. That was back in 2000. To start with, Tuzla itself is a very gloomy and dull town. And because it was raining most of the time while we were there, it felt so depressing! The rooms are so tastelessly furnished! Black furniture, awful mirrors, uncomfortable beds, I felt physically and psychologically suffocated when I was there. And the washbasin ... ...Internet café and since the hotel didn’t provide this service, we were recommended a place nearby… A few days later we were pick-pocketed there… The amount stolen was an absolute fortune… Luckily, we still had some reserves left. I suppose that can happen anywhere but at that point I just wanted to leave that place!

Not my first choice
Advantages: serves its purpose - provides accommodation, good breakfast Disadvantages: expensive
I stayed in the Hotel Saraj in Sarajevo in November 2000. It’s situated on the hill but close to the city centre, so you would expect great views in this mountainous country… and the view from our room was quite pretty, it was beginning to snow at the time so we could admire those magnificent white-greyish mountains and also see a bit of the Old Town. But the restaurant was overlooking a cemetery!! I must admit, the breakfast was good, we had a choice ... ...or less clean.
The hotel also had a sauna and a hairdresser’s – but we didn’t use it. The staff speak decent English. I am not sure if they accepted cards there, but I remember we paid cash –Deutsche Marks at the time…. I also used to laugh at the name of the hotel – Saraj, because in Russian saraj means a shed, but I am sure in Bosnian it would mean something like “a resident of Sarajevo”, that type of thing… On the whole, the hotel is OK but probably ...

A jewel in Bosnian setting
Advantages: very clean, close to the city centre Disadvantages: breakfast is scanty
I stayed in the hotel Sico back in 2001. I was dreading a small shabby hotel in a tiny town called Bijeljina. But I have most pleasant memories of my stay in this hotel. It is rather small, it has only 14 suites with satellite TV, telephone and air-conditioning. The bathroom was impeccably clean! And the bedding was white and crispy… and they had duvets!! Not those awful sheets and woollen covers… The rooms are carpeted and the floor in the corridor ... ...message across afterwards.
The hotel is located in the town centre so that is very handy. And it will not be an exaggeration to say that it's the best hotel in this small town… ---------
