was pretty AND talented, a rather awesome package in just 1 person.
If you didn't like redheads there was Emma Anderson - she of the dark haired persuasion, also singing & playing guitar and owning a pair of legs that go right up to her neck as well writing some of the songs into the bargain. And if you don't like girls there was always the rather gothic Phil King on bass or the sadly now deceased Chris Acland providing rather awesome drums that melded together the very different sound palette that was Lush.
So the band had something for everyone, be you boy, girl or small fluffy creature from Alpha Centuri (I think Miki had them covered). Split was their 2nd album release arriving in June of 1994, all songs were either written by Miki or Emma apart from Starlust which was a joint effort.

I found this darling little gem of blasphemy at a second hand shop near the shores of Blackpool, amongst stuff that nobody had bought and probably nobody ever would... Amongst the dusty books, cracked mugs, and bric-a-brac lay a simple black case of stiff carton with a little image printed on it which looked like a drawing but proved to be a black and white photograph, depicting in theatrical style an orgy or some other kind of mystical nude assembly. My interest aroused, I opened the box, and inside found two vinyl discs of about 10'' diameter enveloped in white paper; also encased were several sheets printed with red letters on a gray surface. The inscriptions seemed to be foreign, more distinctly: French. Between the lines I beheld strange photographs. On their themes I could only phantasize, lacking the literary context thereof ...

Nim and her father Jack have sailed around the world twice and made a discovery which saw them setting up home on an undiscovered island. Nim has no mother as she was taken by a great white whale when Nim was a baby and so father Jack is always searching for the whale to be close to her Mom. Jack works as a scientist and is always on the lookout for new marine animals. As a result of his work he goes off for 2 nights leaving Nim on the Island with her nest friends, Silkie the seal and iguana Fred. Nim is not bother by being left on her own as she has her books for company, her favourite being the stories about adventurer Alex Rover.
As Nim?s father leaves Nim gets an email from the Alex Rover who needs help with details of the volcano which is on their island. Nim is thrilled with this email and sets off to find the info Alex needs ...
