There are many resaons why Braehead is a firm favourite in our household. In fact it's a miracle that a shopping centre in in favour at all when it comes to my boyfriend but he doesn't put up much of a fight when it comes to a trip to Braehead (no fight would be a miracle!). That's the first thing that appeals about the place - it's so laid back it's no trouble at all. You're more or less guaranteed a car parking space as there are plenty of car parks at Braehead. I've been at some really busy times and have always found a space with ease. The way the car parks are situated around the building too means that when you get out of the car in the rain you're only a quick dash to one of the many doors to Braehead shopping centre. And the parking's free - bonus!!!
When you're inside it's quite pleasant. The air conditioning keeps the place at a good steady temperature that's comfy for all those hours of shopping. I've been in during summer and winter and it feels like another world once you're inside.
The shops are great and well laid out. They have everything you'd need in there. Too many shops to mention but some of my favourites are the Warner Brothers store (of course), the brilliant Bear Factory and definitely the Virgin Vie shop, which is one of only 2 in Glasgow. The shops inside the Shopping centre are the usual with a few rarities but I love the shops next to the centre too - Ikea, huge b & q, Harry Corry, etc. It's a great place to go if you like to shop for yourself and your home without travelling all over the central belt.
One of the other great things about Braehead is the variety of food outlets. If you go you have to try the american style hotdogs that come in half baguettes. Mmmmmmm!!! And for those of you who aren't partial to hotdogs there are plenty of other places, including Mcdonalds and pizza hut.
So if you're planning a shopping trip, make the effort to go to Braehead shopping centre - it's well worth it!
