I have lived in Brasilia for a while. At that time I was trying to settle in Brazil and Brasilia was a city where I had many friends and contacts, and it was not excessively hot, at least in comparison to Salvador from where I was coming. Brasilia is a modern city, literally built out of nothing. It is the capital of the Brazilian state. Some tourists venture here to see the planned city and a couple of modern monuments. I never bothered myself, although the lack of a car gave me the opportunity of walking the city up and down. All the people I knew were not very excited about the idea of living in Brasilia, a much duller city than Rio, where most of them headed during the summer season. I suggest that one day is all you need to explore the City and get a feeling for it.
