Brasília, the capital of Brazil, was built on a gigantic scale on the Central Brazilian Plateau, a large area which covers a few States in central Brazil. It is part of the federal district so not officially part of any state but geographically it lies within the state of Goiania. Brasilia is a modern city.
At the time of construction full license was given to the planners and architects to build large, innovative buildings and to fully use their freedom of spirit and imagination. Another purpose was to open up the interior of the country to development. This is one reason why the central government was moved there. I would recommend that you visit this city if you get the chance. You can travel there by bus or plane.
