There was also a new building being constructed across the road! Have been back to Broadbeach this year (not to the Phoenician) and all building work seems to be complete. The resort is well situated with the main restaurant area of Broadbeach around it. The Oasis shopping centre is across the road, and a monorail connects with Conrad Jupiters hotel/casino (didn't make use of the casino but they do have an excellent show there). However it is a short walk from the beach.
Our room was at the Oasis end of the resort and had three balconies. It was a very good size with combined lounge/dining room/kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. There was air-conditioning to the bedroom. The kitchen was very well equipment, although we only used it for breakfast Dishwasher, fridge, microwave, oven, toaster etc. The were a number of fire alarms whilst we were there (not caused by us!) mostly caused by toasters. There was also a washing machine, tumble dryer and ironing facilities. The furnishings were a little tired but OK. There are two pools (the outside one was closed as mentioned above) but there was also an indoor one. We used the indoor one once whilst it was raining, and it had a leaky roof. There are spa facilities on site, but we did not use them. The resort was not full whilst we were there (perhaps people knew about the building work). A lot of the apartments appeared to be in use by residents. Covered parking is available although we didn't need it - there is good public transport available. The rooms were cleaned once a week. There was a recption area where you could also book trips. No on site restaurant or bar, but the place was surrounded by them. (Rating is for these restaurants).
