Advantages: Sandals in genuinely "All Inclusive", and oozes quality
Disadvantages: Jamaica seems festooned with hustlers

I prefer this as there are so many hustlers around. Plenty of grass and cocaine available at "K-Mart" prices, but if you aren't that way inclined it can be a bit disconcerting to have it waved in your face continuously. We went to the Sumfest Reggae Festival in Montego Bay. It was a good event, but again a lot of hustlers. Acts we saw here included Shaggy and Chaka Demus & Pliers. Sandals provides free scuba diving, it was ok but the reefs are fished out. The diving team lead you around by the nose, as in many Carribean resorts. This suits your typical American holiday diver, but gets a bit annoying for your average uk diver. All in all I would go to a Sandals resort again, but only for a "chilling out" kinda holiday. ...

Mo bay

Advantages: Clean, Tidy
Disadvantages: Staff not very friendly

My father lives in Jamaica so i go out to visit him every other year or two. I love travelling and i enjoy being on a areoplane i have to admit the only thing i do dreed about the whole travelling experience is landing at Montego Bay airport after a 9 hour flight. Yes i'm more than thankful to have my feet on the ground and to have finally reached my destination but i find the whole process of going through the airport a nightmare. You'd think i would have got use to it the amount of times i done it but last years visit was the worse. I flew out with my two small children , partner. my mum my brother, his girlfriend and little boy. Once you get off the plane the first thing that hits you is the heat which is only expected as your coming from a cold country to a hot one. You have to walk what seems like miles to get to ...

Montego Bay Airport

Advantages: clean, spacious, tidy
Disadvantages: slow service, poor air conditioning

I went to Jamaica in August 2004, flying from Manchester to Montego Bay via MyTravel airlines. Although it was my first time travelling to the country, my dad who flew with me has been several times before however he usually flies directly to Kingston. After a 9 hour flight, I was pleasantly supprised to arrive at such a clean and tidy airport. It appeared that clean and tidy...that it actually seemed rather empty, but at least it looked nice. Despite the hot mid-august temperatures, the airports air conditioning wasn't up to much. Infact the air conditioning consisted of a few low power fans placed in the corner of arrivals! This definately wasn't one of the best things about the airport! The next downfall came when we tried to get through check in. This was amazingly slow! It brought a new dimension to the term Jamaican ...
