I stayed at this 3+ star hotel for 2 weeks last March and overall i was pretty impressed.
This hotel located at Puerto Plata was beautifully decorated and very clean and well kept, it seemed more like a 4 star hotel that a 3 star. We paid a little under £2,000 for two weeks all inclusive and this was for a double room with sea views.
The hotel is right on the beach so the views were absolutely amazing.. We found most of the staff friendly and we got checked in within 15 minutes. On arrival our bags were collected and taken straight away so we could go straight to the reception to check in.
This hotel is ideal for keen golfers and watersports fans as the hotel is right on the beach and has a large golf course to the side of the hotel. We were amazed at how nice and 'grand' the hotel looked when we got there.
This hotel has loads of facilities including three tenniscourts, a casino, a golf course, a basketball course, a large trampoline and mini club for children. There is also a large shop on site that sells various medicines and food and drinks. There is also a tobacco store and photo shop that sells disposable cameras etc.
Our room was very colourful and clean and there was a tv, en suite bathroom and double bed, we also had a safe and mini bar and there was bowl of fruit and bottle of wine waiting for us for when we arrived!
There was 3 bars at the hotel including a beach bar and swim up bar and several resturaunts serving Italian, french and Japanese food, we found it quite hard to book into some of the resturaunts as they got booked up quickly so i would advise you to book up at resturaunts on day one for the whole holiday to avoid dissapointment as we found ourselves having to eat at the buffet resturaunt of several nights.
The evening entertainment was okay, nothing amazing but there was various different things going on during the two week stay including salsa dancing and shows etc.
This hotel is fairly close to two of the local towns so within 10 minutes by bus you could be at one the local towns where there was lots of shops and resturaunts.
Overall we found this hotel to be excellent value for money and we had a lovely time, we would recommend this hotel to all.
