I had the most amazing time in Barbados (November 2005.)
After an awful flight which lasted almost 13 hours due to bad weather conditions we landed in Barbados (this was after we landed in St.Lucia because we couldn't land in Barbados due to a "tropical storm") When we landed the weather was dull...it was raining and I thought we had landed in the middle of no-where. I looked around and all there was, was something that seemed to be a shed, it was in fact - the airport. The staff in the airport were miserable. I didnt know what I had let myself in for but my holiday soon picked up. My hotel was absolutely stunning. Situated right on the beach front, it was heaven. (I stayed at "Blue Orchids") The weather soon picked up as well and temperatures were soaring. I came home with a golden tan after lying on the beach and around the pool.
Theres lots to do in Barbados, from snorkling to going on a Submarine, shopping in Bridgetown and going on boat trips, visitng wildlife reserves and seeing the wild monkeys. I would certainly advise people to go on the submarine. Although at first it was nerve wracking, I really enjoyed myself and seen some amazing things that I would otherwise never get to see such as a ship wreck. I couldn't believe my eyes.
The people of Barbados are unblieveably friendly although you need to be careful and trust no-one (the same as anywhere really)

It's a fair review on Barbados in general, but you have hardly mentioned what you can do in Bridgetown, and this category is on Bridgetown. Advantages: Appears very safe and very interesting, Beautiful & a time warp. Disadvantages: Not a huge range of things to buy unless you want jewellery.
