ENTER THIS UNDERSEA WORLD AT YOUR PERIL!
Review of Sea-Life Brighton by RICHADA

Advantages: Sea Life in all colours, shapes & sizes. Historic building. Unique atmosphere.
Disadvantages: Very expensive. Building needs internal updating. Dangerous floors.

Please accept my sincerest apologies for this one hitting the stands just as the children return to school, but for our own personal enjoyment of this particular attraction, that is just the way we like it - quiet! Do not be fooled, I have nothing against children, indeed on my very first visit to the Dolphinarium as it was then, I was one myself! On that occasion I had the pleasure of seeing the dolphins sing 'happy birthday' to some delighted ...
...remember nothing of the place from the late 1960's primary school trip. We live in a different age now, performing dolphins being about as politically non-PC as you can get! Sorry, I am aware that for some of you that was an offensive remark, it was not intended that way, I just wanted to highlight by use of (dubious) humour just how much times have changed since my childhood. In terms of nature conservancy we now live in far more enlightened times, ... Read review

Starsky & Hutch
Review of Odeon (Brighton) by olivers

Advantages: City Centre Location
Disadvantages: Ugly Building, Expensive

Went to see this great film on Sunday - brilliant. but Popcorn was £3 for a 'small' tub - ouch! I nipped out to the local shops - bought a can of coke and a bag of nut crunch for £2.20 - even at seafront prices that's better value than the cinema! And... £5.80 for a ticket. No wonder the cinema was less than 1/3rd full. Next time I want to see a film I'll wait for the DVD to come out - loads of extra features (usually) plus the confort of your ... Read review

THE ROMAN EMPIRE - RIGHT HERE IN BRIGHTON!
Review of Brighton Sand Sculpture Festival by RICHADA

Advantages: Superb sculptures & craftsmanship. Very educational. 10 Times Better Than Last Year!
Disadvantages: The sand is all the same colour? In September It'll All Be History!

...in this exposed position, on Brighton Sea Front at Black Rock, caused more erosion last year than the organisers had anticipated. Last year a team of sculptors was constantly "repairing" the sculptures, this year obviously that is not necessary. The whole Festival is undoubtedly a feast for the eyes, if I had to pick one area of it as a highlight, it would be one of the much smaller "room scenes" - a Roman kitchen. Like everything else here, there ...
...for me, here at the Brighton Sand Sculpture Festival 2006, the pleasure was also very much in the detail. This is rapidly turning into a "Must See" event each year, I would strongly urge as many of you who can, to go along and see this, before 10th September, when the doors to the Roman Empire are closed and Ancient Rome, at least here in Brighton, dissolves into grains of sand. That is now…… ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This was then…… You ... Read review

Review of Brighton Pavillion, Brighton by mrsatchmo

Advantages: Peaceful gardens,Exotic Interiors Flamboyant Colours.
Disadvantages: Gets very busy in the Tourist Season.

...two listings for the Pavillion Brighton on Ciao, so I am going to chose the Pavillion heading as to me there is more to enjoy here than the Palace alone. I am lucky enough to live 5 minutes away from this beautiful building and I have been using the gardens at the pavillion for many years now. I enjoy watching the seasons come and go, the ice on the lily pond in midwinter and the colour of bulbs popping up amongst the bushes in early spring.. It ...
...the dark night sky. Brighton pavillion was built by George IV the Prince of Wales, who was the oldest son of George III. In 1783 the Prince bought a small farmhouse and over a period of 35 years he transformed the farmhouse into the sumptious Indian/Chinese styled Pavillion we all know today. The Prince was renowned as a huge spender and really got himself into debt with his high living. The Prince became King in 1820. In 1830, when George died, ... Read review

Brighton Racecourse
Review of Brighton Racecourse by paul110

Advantages: Great day out
Disadvantages: none

Brighton racecourse is located on the edge of the City and has seen racing on the site, known locally as 'Race Hill', since the 1700's. The heyday of the racecourse was in the 60,s when it attracted crowds of 30000+. Gradually it became rundown until it was bought by Northern Racing, in 1998, who began a £4.5 million regeneration of the track. Brighton hosts many meetings and is only a flat race course. It is designed in a horse shoe shape, and a ...
