The Royal Albion Hotel, Brighton
Advantages: great location, cheap, nice rooms, excellent food Disadvantages: no parking, quite dated
Introduction to the hotel:
The Royal Albion Hotel was built in 1826 and is situated in a fantastic location opposite Brighton pier. It is a three star hotel and has 186 guest rooms offering views of Brighton beach or the town centre. My experience of the hotel:
I spent one night in the hotel in January of this year and for a three star hotel I was quite impressed. I and my girlfriend booked a double room for £55 and it was a spacious room with ... ...number of reviews about the Royal Albion and some have been not to complentary about it, complaing the décor was very dated and their stay was quite unpleasant. I however disagree with these views and thought the hotel to be perfectly adequate for a stay in Brighton. The location was excellent, the room nice and the food on offer was splendid. I would certainly recommend it and will be staying there again on my next trip to the south coast. The only ...

Faultless
Advantages: Just beautiful Disadvantages: none
...I booked a night at the Grand for £165 for this we got an evening meal, bed and breakfast. It was slightly out of season, October so the hotel was nowhere near full, think high season would be much dearer.
We were delighted to discover that we had been put into a room with a sea view, we really weren't expecting that, as we hadn't specifically ordered one, to be honest we imagined that we may be in the "boiler room bowels", we wouldn't have minded ... ...unexpected bonus.
The room was small, but beautiflly decorated, very tasteful, olde worlde style, but obviously brand new and in perfect condition. The room was air conditioned, and also had a ceiling fan. The ensuite bathroom was something else! It had a mirror with lights all around it, a bath and power shower, sumptous robes for our use, about £20 worth of L'occitane toiletries. The bedroom also had a free wireless internet point..so I could ...

Three nights in the Ramada Jarvis!
Advantages: The whole experience was an advantage. Disadvantages: -
...of my fiancé was the Ramada Jarvis hotel in Brighton, I have never stayed in a hotel in Brighton before having only visited once previously and having stayed in a bed and breakfast so I cannot compare it to other hotels in the Brighton area but I can compare it to other hotels throughout Britain and indeed Europe as I am fairly well travelled.
The first thing of note with this hotel is that it has a modern look without losing any grandeur, I often ... ...Ramada Jarvis was every bit as attractive as the old prestigious hotels dotted around it but with a real up to date look and indeed feel to it.
It is situated in a very nice location, very close to the many winding lanes and pathways that are simply alive with beautiful boutiques and equally close to the famous pebble beach where if weather permits as it did for us you can spend a very leisurely afternoon.
The hotel has 123 rooms in total all of ...

Brighton Rocks in The Lanes
Advantages: great location, friendly & knowledgable Disadvantages: car parking & breakfast!!
...work.
We choose the Thistle due to cost and availability really - many of the hotels on the travel website we use were fully booked or looked in need of paint and repair. This was advertised as being close to The Lanes and numerous restaurants as well as being sea front based.
LOCATION
The Thistle is a glass fronted, modern looking hotel, situated approx 200 yards from Brighton Pier, directly on the seafront.
I say modern looking, because most ... ...so the Thistle stood out somewhat!!!
Directly behind this hotel is The Lanes and various restaurants - so it really is close to all amenities as advertised.
ARRIVAL
Finding the hotel was easy, parking was not!!!
The car park the hotel uses is not signposted well - in fact, it has signs all over stating this is not for use by hotel guests!!
However, that said, there is parking available directly under the hotel - charged at £15 per 24 hour period ...

would recommend!
Advantages: contempory rooms, clean, great locatrion and see views, great value Disadvantages: bath quite small, breakfast area a little noisy, coffee undrinkable
...a hotel in Brighton, The Queens hotel is right on the sea front a stones throw from Brighton Pier and a short walk from the shops. I think the hotel has been modernised in recent years as it very contempory. The bathrooms and a slate grey and white affair with a bath and shower over bath. The bedrooms are a contemporary mix of pale whites and blues with dark brown and and zebra print. On our first stay at this hotel we had booked a standard double ... ...view room, which looked staight out on to the pier - lovely. The room was large and split level with the bathroom on the main level and then a few steps down to the bedroom ,which made the room feel very spacious. On the second occasion we stayed in the standard double room which was smaller but still nice.
I think this hotel is great value for money. We stayed for £60 a night in the double room which for this high standard of room is great.
