Disadvantages: Expensive for what you get

Stayed at the Metropole this weekend. Booked 3 rooms, a Deluxe plus room for my mother (it was her birthday treat) at £210 and 2 rooms for our family at £145 each on mezzanine room. My mothers room was nice, large, seaview although the weather was hideous and there was a gap around the window where the rain came in.No bath robe but Champneys toiletries were a nice touch. However our rooms were dark with tiny windows looking our onto a brick wall, ...
...and bins. Both had dark manky nets. Inferior toiletries, no bath robes, a hairdryer that only had cold air, a flickering bulb in the bathroom.(which they changed quickly when we rang). On the whole for the money it was awful.The toilet in our kids twin room actually started off as a hilarious joke but became annoying. Due to a theatre trip to Brighton I and my partner did a late booking for this hotel over the net . I wish I had read some of the reviews first. Although well situated, I cannot think of much else to reccommend it. We arrived with our booking reference and were treated as if we were some tramps who had walked in. The young lady spent some time silently searching the computer and when she found the booking seemed quite dissappointed. I was asked ...
...Our double room was so cramped that it was impossible to move around it togther. The double bed was crammed into a corner and difficult to move around. Fortunately we had only a very small overnight bag , if we had had suitcases goodness knows where we could have put them. Disadvantages: "Casual" staff, inconsistent drinks prices, cheap loo paper!

Just returned from a weekend at the Seattle hotel in Brighton and feel Ishould share my views thoughts and comments on my stay there. Not only have I been I guest there but also attended a function in their function suite, performed there as an artist (at the function) and partaken in a few drinks in their residents bar, called the Black and White Bar. ...is easily accessible by car and has an adjacent car park where you can park for free if a resident (use level 6 if a hotel resident). Surrounded by a variety of nightlife and restaurants, it is a great place to be in the evening. However it is about 2 miles from the town of Brighton itself. Staff. ...a hotel in Brighton, The Queens hotel is right on the sea front a stones throw from Brighton Pier and a short walk from the shops. I think the hotel has been modernised in recent years as it very contempory. The bathrooms and a slate grey and white affair with a bath and shower over bath. The room was large and split level with the bathroom on the main level and then a few steps down to the bedroom ,which made the room feel very spacious. On the second occasion we stayed in the standard double room which was smaller but still nice. I think this hotel is great value for money. Advantages: unique hotel - one of a kind, worth the price
Disadvantages: trouble parking on weekends

...An experience in itself. The hotel is extremely deceiving from the outside and i only happened to go there out of chance, by needing a hotel that night. The downstairs bar is stunning, and has a relaxed and chilled out feel to it. I also loved the themed rooms, 19 to choose from, the durex play room being the main bedroom of the hotel with it over delux features, I stayed in the glamour room and totally enjoyed my stay. Prices at the hotel aren't too bad either starting from about £85-£285 a night depending on which day and which room you choose!! its also worth checking out the website first where you can have a glance at all of the bedrooms to choose from and they contact you back reasonably quickly with any queries which is excellent!
