I love going down to Brighton, it's the perfect destination for a wicked time. I went for the first time last summer for a weekend and it happened to be the gay pride weekend festival. It was amazing, there were rainbow flags hung all around the town from every little allyway window. I just grabbed my camera and took photos of everyone and all the colourful surroundings. There were families, children, loads of protesters but most of all it was a celebration and an amazing atmosphere.
I have returned to Brighton a few times since last summer, in the New Year I went to see Taskforce at the Concorde club on the seafront. They were amazing! The best part about going out in Brighton is the sobering walk on the beach afterwards. A warning not to walk barefooted on the pebble beach as the stones will cane your feet although by this time you most probably couldn't feel your feet.
There is an ace Graffitti park past the new pier at the far end next to the Marina. It is a legal park where anyone can go and paint, it is refreshing to see because you see groups of kids putting a lot of effort into their work and can work at their own pace, Montana crews frequently visit the park to paint, some of the pieces are outstanding, and worth seeing.
The best part of Brighton is the seafront and all the litlle allyways filled with cafe's and independant original shops that have plenty of character. There are a few pasta cafe's near the Thistle hotel that are excellently priced costing £2.50 for a pizza or pasta dish, and it is good food!
Brighton has a lot of students and is known to be a good place to study art.
