I you're looking for a weeked (or more) getaway but can't afford the French Riviera, Brighton's the place you should be heading to. With its hundreds of hotels and B&Bs, you won't have any trouble finding a place to stay and enjoy the great seafront. No matter what you're looking for, you'll find it in Brighton. Shopping amateurs will be happy to know that in addition to the big ChurchillSquare shopping centre in the middle of town, there's also a myriad of little shopping streets all over the city to accomodate for everyone's tastes. But the most interesting thing in Brighton is probably its incredible nightlife: with hundreds of pubs, bars and clubs all over town, you'll never run out of a place to have fun in. Again, different tastes call for different atmospheres and ambiances, you can find any kind of place in Brighton where underground bars, classy lounges and family pubs are just few examples of. Sounds appealing to you? It is indeed. There's only one disadvantage and it's a pretty important one: you have to be able to afford all this. Brighton's one of the most expensive cities of the UK to stay (prob. right behind London). Accomodation's not cheap, neither food and drinks. But if you're only planning a week-end getaway, it shouldn't be that bad after all.
