I recently used bristol Airport for the first time recently, to meet my Daughter from her holiday flight.
I followed a sign which stated " Short term parking (first 20 minutes free)" and on entering the slip road to this part of the car park, I was than faced with 2 gate options. On the notice board to the one gate were temporary notices with charges of £10.50 aand £12.50 displayed, but on the other gate there was nothing displayed, ... ...and not wishing to pay too much, I entered the unmarked gate (as there was no other option, and the road was too narrow to turn around).
I collected my daughter, and went to the pay machine inside the airport building to pay, and the machine demanded £10.50 for the hour and fourteen minutes I was parked, I almost fainted when I saw this, as the charge for the time I was there should have been £3.00.

I recently used bristol Airport for the first time recently, to meet my Daughter from her holiday flight. I followed a sign which stated " Short term parking (first 20 minutes free)" and on entering the slip road to this part of the car park, I was than faced with 2 gate options. On the notice board to the one gate were temporary notices with charges of £10.50 aand £12.50 displayed, but on the other gate there was nothing displayed, so as I only had about an hour to wait, and not wishing to pay too much, I entered the unmarked gate (as there was no other option, and the road was too narrow to turn around). I collected my daughter, and went to the pay machine inside the airport building to pay, and the machine demanded £10.50 for the hour and fourteen minutes I was parked, I almost fainted when I saw this, as the charge for the time I was there should have been £3.00. Attempting to get any sense about a refund for the overcharge from the car park staff proved pointless, and I decided to to pursue the matter further, and sent a Fax to the Car park management, followed by a letter in the mail. I am pleased to say that I recieved a letter from the car park management, within 4 days, and they agreed to refund the overcharge. I recieved a cheque in the post a few days later. I must say "FULL marks" to the car park management for their prompt action, BUT Zero for signage into the car park. If the signs had been better positioned mistakes like this need not happen. I was not the only victim that day, a driver in front of me at the attendants office had been charged £75 for a stay that should have been £30, and there were several other lined up behind us with similar complaints.
Advantages: Cheapest Disadvantages: Unreliable and unresponsive to complaints
...Meet & Greet" service at Bristol airport to help others decide which company to use at this airport. I pre-booked this premium service because we were flying at 6am and didn't want the hassle of parking. I rang WCP 10 minutes from arrival but they said they had no record of the booking. Nevertheless the driver did meet us and took the car away. On return we rang the company from arrivals and got an answering machine. We proceeded to the short-term ... ...a small bus. He said he was single-handed, as someone hadn't turned up for work, and we should get on the bus or it would be at least 30 minutes before he could come back with our car. Subsequent complaints by email and letter remain unanswered. A very unprofessional company. ...

...so on our return to Bristol we were told we would have to wait twenty minutes for our so called MEET AND GREET service. When i queried the wait i received a very aggressive" Why, is that a problem?". When i said actually it is he put the phone down. We had two cars booked but only one appeared after twenty minutes and my companions had to wait three quarters of an hour before their car was returned.
No apology, no reply to my emails, no refund, ...

We paid £45 for a meet and greet, on the way out to Venice, it was fine, however on the way back we had to phone them 3 times, they eventually turned up 50 minutes later. We were freezing cold, and really annoyed. When the driver turned up, we told her so, her reply was " I've only got 1 pair of hands". I've emailed and telephoned numerous times for a refund. The owner Dean told me 2 weeks ago that a refund was in the post. 3 Days ago I emailed again ...

Advantages: Actually fly at sensible times from regional airports, loads of legroom Disadvantages: The use of small planes mean you feel every bump and twist; much of FlyBE's fleet are turbo-props
. The cheapest flight we could get was somewhere in the region of £400 each ? it would have been more cost effective to drive straight across. This flight was with British Airways (BA).
We then checked BA from Birmingham - £78 wow what a difference, BMIbaby from East Midlands - £60 and £45 with EasyJet from Luton, it seems to me that the further away from your final destination you get the cheaper the flight gets, then I saw an advertisement in the Sunday paper for FlyBE a.k.a British European, well lets give them a try.
A little bit of browsing the website and playing with times, eventually found us flights that suited us from Bristol at a price we were more than happy with - £127 economy class return including taxes (I must say this was far more favourable than the parking charges at BristolAirport which came in at a casual £12/day ? which I ...

Advantages: Connections with road, clean, easy Disadvantages: Fog prone, limited airlines
I've ploughed up and down the M5 many a time during my working career and had seen the sign BristolAirport without giving it a second thought. And then I moved to Swindon...the time had come to fly from there.
Bristol is clean, easy to get to road ( rail a bit harder), and is another one of those regional airports in the UK that are far more fun to travel from than the likes of Heathrow and Gatwick. It's not just a holiday airport; the advent of Go and the like have made the prospect of travelling to Glasgow from Bristol a viable alternative to the over priced railways.
So what is BristolAirport itself like? It is tidy, not a million miles away from the car parking (£35 a week deals can be found if you look hard enough), and a pleasure rather than a chore to travel from. This is obviously if all things go well, and if they don ...
Advantages: No nonsense Airline but inexpensive, if you know what you are doing. Disadvantages: No plastic meal in flight.
October the fare was £64 outward and £74 inward a grand total of £276.00.
I realise that it is not always possible to re-arrange your dates but, if you book early enough it usually is much cheaper.
Go Airlines is, as I mentioned above, no-nonsense. When you book on-line or on the telephone, you get a reference number and not a ticket. You present this at the booking in desk at Stansted or Bristol if you have booked from there and you get a boarding pass and return ticket.
One of the disadvantages for many people in UK is that GO only fly from Stansted or Bristol. I live in Essex and therefore only 35 minutes to the Airport. There is long term car parking but, beware, it costs £6.00 per day and my first parking bill for £96.00 after a 16 day holiday was not expected, not welcomed and not easy to pay after having a grand spend up ...
