I Didn't Want to Leave Lovely Holland House

Advantages: Comfortable, clean, not far from station or city centre. Very high standard of rooms.
Disadvantages: Poor TV reception, terrible tea at breakfast!

The Mercure chain owns two hotels in Bristol. One is the Brigstow in Welsh Back, a busy area for nightlife right beside the river. The second is the Holland House Hotel and Spa, only five minutes walk from the Brigstow but in a quieter spot on Redcliffe Hill. Nippy Hotel.

Advantages: great hotel
Disadvantages: prices

...hotel is part of the Ramada chain and it was very clean- housemaids cleaned every morning, the room service was expensive as imaginable but what can you do when you are hungry at 11 o clock at night!, the facilities were excellent. There was an ok sized pool, a gym, a sauna, a steam room an lots of other bits. ...you are not staying in the hotel which is not too good. Rooms The rooms are of a good size with all of the mod cons you would expect to find. Kettle, Iron, Plasma TV, safe, mini fridge, en suite, comfy bed, storage space and lots more. Prices We got a deal for 30£ a night which was great, I think the average price is around 50-60£ per night. This is not too bad at all and it was all well worth it. River Side Accomodation

Advantages: Great Location
Disadvantages: Car Park Not Free

...although it is subsidised by Jurys so you never have to pay more than £8 (they have a machine in reception which modified the ticket, and the NCP ticket machine accepts credit cards too which is handy). Avon Calling!

Advantages: Beautiful views of the Bridge and the Avon Gorge; free wifi; great terrace
Disadvantages: A bit pricy for food and drink

The Avon Gorge Hotel is in a great position ,as it sounds, overlooking the Avon gorge! It is in Clifton, the posh bit of Bristol and definitely the bit you'd want to stay in you were only in bristol for Touristy things, and didn't need, say to be right in the centre for business or something. So you can see the famous Clifton suspension bridge - some rooms look directly onto it and you pay a bit more for those I think. The others face onto the street, ...
...but comfortable and adequately sized with that "nice hotel" furniture you get - light wood, stripes, dark blue and deep reds in the fabric, plush blue carpets. Standard but nice. Expect to pay about £120 for a double room B&B - they do have some weekend deals that work out cheaper. They have cots and highchairs and are OK about babies. The staff cooed over mine, anyway!
