Nice pair of Bristols!
Advantages: Good location. Bristol is better than it sounds at first. Disadvantages: None really, but the afternoon barmaid let the team down.
...We were off to the Marriott Bristol City Centre. Bristol has two Marriotts. One is better than the other. This is probably the poor relation, but I can tell you that it certainly isn’t at all bad. If you want to know more, read on by all means!
Arriving in Bristol mid-afternoon on the M32 motorway, we hung a left and there was the hotel. Very easily spotted, this 10 storey building was not particularly attractive from the outside. After a few circuits ... ...of thing by J W Marriott Jnr. It sent me to sleep in that big, comfortable bed, knowing that Marriott don’t have any employees but, instead, employ “Associates”.
The “associates” we encountered were, at all times, friendly and helpful – apart from the sultry afternoon barmaid – who is probably not actually a barmaid – more a “Refreshment Delivery Associate”. And a crap one, at that! The room, anyway, was very comfortable and we enjoyed our stay ...

Nippy Hotel.
Advantages: great hotel Disadvantages: prices
...hotel is part of the Ramada chain and it was very clean- housemaids cleaned every morning, the room service was expensive as imaginable but what can you do when you are hungry at 11 o clock at night!, the facilities were excellent. There was an ok sized pool, a gym, a sauna, a steam room an lots of other bits. Accessibility There are two lifts in this hotel which makes it a lot easier to get to your room and the dining hall etc.. There is a car park ... ...you are not staying in the hotel which is not too good. Rooms The rooms are of a good size with all of the mod cons you would expect to find. Kettle, Iron, Plasma TV, safe, mini fridge, en suite, comfy bed, storage space and lots more. Prices We got a deal for 30£ a night which was great, I think the average price is around 50-60£ per night. This is not too bad at all and it was all well worth it. Good Points *Clean *Access to services (pool etc.) ...

I Didn't Want to Leave Lovely Holland House
Advantages: Comfortable, clean, not far from station or city centre. Very high standard of rooms. Disadvantages: Poor TV reception, terrible tea at breakfast!
The Mercure chain owns two hotels in Bristol. One is the Brigstow in Welsh Back, a busy area for nightlife right beside the river. The second is the Holland House Hotel and Spa, only five minutes walk from the Brigstow but in a quieter spot on Redcliffe Hill. Choosing the quieter option, I stayed for a Saturday night at the four star Holland House in July 2009.
First Impressions
After travelling by train, I had a walk of around seven minutes ... ...again. Although the price was higher than I would usually pay, we all need a taste of luxury now and then!

A lovely stay and a fantastic breakfast at the Marriott Royal!
Advantages: Excellent staff, wonderful breakfast, quality feeling to the hotel. Disadvantages: None encountered on this visit
My husband and I stayed here for a night last August, I got a really good deal - £90 for B&B for both of us. Considering the standard of the hotel, I really thought this was a good price. Breakfast alone is normally £16 each!
Our room was spotless and looked out over the cathedral and college green. The room was really large for a standard room and the king size bed was sooo comfortable! The bathroom was also very nice and clean with a really deep ... ...room came with all the normal facilities you would expect from a 4 start hotel - hairdryer, iron, safe, satellite TV and high speed internet access. The hotel has an indoor swimming pool, sauna and gym facilities which we didn't use, but it certainly is a really good feature. We didn't eat dinner at the hotel either, but the restaurant areas looked really good with a varied menu as well. The general style of the hotel is Victorian - lots of fairly ...

West India House Pub.
******************
We where recently invited to a 30th wedding anniversary at this pub and I thought I would write a review on its location and facilities, first one I've done on a pub.
Description: *********
Landlords Kelvin and Karen welcome you to the West India House website - "the country pub in the town" as they describe it.
The building as you see it today was constructed around 1936 as one of the first buildings ... ...by a merchant with the West India Trading Company, whose ships delivered goods to the quayside in the town centre. The pub in General:
****************
The pub apparently welcomes Coach Parties, though thankfully there where none there on our night, and is also used as a drinks stop.
Not a huge car park and can fit in about 25 cars.
Surprisingly dogs, not just guide doge, but any dog is allowed on the pub premises as long as they are kept on ...
