We have family in Bristol, and as our family is large (4 children) we need to stay in a hotel. We had stayed previously in budget hotels, but after a bit of research, I found this hotel was almost as cheap, indeed with the breakfast included, I have even managed to stay here cheaper than a budget hotel would cost me. A lovely stay and a fantastic breakfast at the Marriott Royal!

Advantages: Excellent staff, wonderful breakfast, quality feeling to the hotel.
Disadvantages: None encountered on this visit

My husband and I stayed here for a night last August, I got a really good deal - £90 for B&B for both of us. Considering the standard of the hotel, I really thought this was a good price. Breakfast alone is normally £16 each! Our room was spotless and looked out over the cathedral and college green. Personally, I wouldn't bother

Advantages: Central and close to transport links
Disadvantages: Does not exceed in any way your basic expectations

This was an enforced stay on my part as my partner was in hospital all last week and there was no accommodation available at the hospital for me so I had to stay in the city 20 minutes away by bus. We had stayed at this hotel together for a night back in January and were not impressed then either. Avon Calling!

Advantages: Beautiful views of the Bridge and the Avon Gorge; free wifi; great terrace

The Avon Gorge Hotel is in a great position ,as it sounds, overlooking the Avon gorge! It is in Clifton, the posh bit of Bristol and definitely the bit you'd want to stay in you were only in bristol for Touristy things, and didn't need, say to be right in the centre for business or something. So you can see the famous Clifton suspension bridge - some rooms look directly onto it and you pay a bit more for those I think. The others face onto the street, ...

Nippy Hotel.

Advantages: great hotel
