Ideal Place For A Family Break

Advantages: Health Club, Breakfast, Located Near Motorway (Easy To Get To)
Disadvantages: Located Near Motorway (No Views)

We have family in Bristol, and as our family is large (4 children) we need to stay in a hotel. We had stayed previously in budget hotels, but after a bit of research, I found this hotel was almost as cheap, indeed with the breakfast included, I have even managed to stay here cheaper than a budget hotel would cost me. Every time I have visited, the staff have dealt with my check in extremely well, once we had a problem with a family room being unavailable, ...
...nice, but not spectacular with a double bed and a sofa that converts into 2 single beds, and they put a cot in for the baby also at no extra cost. There is a TV, which has the basic channels, but films are available at an extra cost. There are also playstation games available again at an extra cost. The bathroom again is adequate, 2 sinks, bath with shower & toilet. There are free toiletries supplied. For the children they supplied free colouring ...

Review of Hilton Hotel, Bristol

A lovely stay and a fantastic breakfast at the Marriott Royal!

Advantages: Excellent staff, wonderful breakfast, quality feeling to the hotel.
Disadvantages: None encountered on this visit

My husband and I stayed here for a night last August, I got a really good deal - £90 for B&B for both of us. Considering the standard of the hotel, I really thought this was a good price. Breakfast alone is normally £16 each! Our room was spotless and looked out over the cathedral and college green. The room was really large for a standard room and the king size bed was sooo comfortable! The bathroom was also very nice and clean with a really deep ...
...room came with all the normal facilities you would expect from a 4 start hotel - hairdryer, iron, safe, satellite TV and high speed internet access. The hotel has an indoor swimming pool, sauna and gym facilities which we didn't use, but it certainly is a really good feature. We didn't eat dinner at the hotel either, but the restaurant areas looked really good with a varied menu as well. The general style of the hotel is Victorian - lots of fairly ...

Personally, I wouldn't bother

Advantages: Central and close to transport links
Disadvantages: Does not exceed in any way your basic expectations

This was an enforced stay on my part as my partner was in hospital all last week and there was no accommodation available at the hospital for me so I had to stay in the city 20 minutes away by bus. We had stayed at this hotel together for a night back in January and were not impressed then either. When it came to booking 7 days' accommodation for myself this past week, this hotel was the only one with a room available for the whole 7 days, so I ...
...room (with just me in it) and I felt ripped off. It's your bog standard city centre hotel, practical and no frills. It barely met my expectations and certainly didn't surpass them and there was nothing about the staff or the hotel that would make me seek it out in the future unless I absolutely had to. I'm glad on this occasion that I had to spend very little time there. It is completely cold and characterless. The location is good and this is ...

Review of Premier Travel Inn Bristol - City Centre (Haymarket), Bristol

Avon Calling!

Advantages: Beautiful views of the Bridge and the Avon Gorge; free wifi; great terrace
Disadvantages: A bit pricy for food and drink

The Avon Gorge Hotel is in a great position ,as it sounds, overlooking the Avon gorge! It is in Clifton, the posh bit of Bristol and definitely the bit you'd want to stay in you were only in bristol for Touristy things, and didn't need, say to be right in the centre for business or something. So you can see the famous Clifton suspension bridge - some rooms look directly onto it and you pay a bit more for those I think. The others face onto the street, ...
...but comfortable and adequately sized with that "nice hotel" furniture you get - light wood, stripes, dark blue and deep reds in the fabric, plush blue carpets. Standard but nice. Expect to pay about £120 for a double room B&B - they do have some weekend deals that work out cheaper. They have cots and highchairs and are OK about babies. The staff cooed over mine, anyway! Breakfast was nice - usual fruit/pastries/full English but all fresh and nicely ...

Nippy Hotel.

Advantages: great hotel
Disadvantages: prices

...hotel is part of the Ramada chain and it was very clean- housemaids cleaned every morning, the room service was expensive as imaginable but what can you do when you are hungry at 11 o clock at night!, the facilities were excellent. There was an ok sized pool, a gym, a sauna, a steam room an lots of other bits. Accessibility There are two lifts in this hotel which makes it a lot easier to get to your room and the dining hall etc.. There is a car park ...
...you are not staying in the hotel which is not too good. Rooms The rooms are of a good size with all of the mod cons you would expect to find. Kettle, Iron, Plasma TV, safe, mini fridge, en suite, comfy bed, storage space and lots more. Prices We got a deal for 30£ a night which was great, I think the average price is around 50-60£ per night. This is not too bad at all and it was all well worth it. Good Points *Clean *Access to services (pool etc.) ...
