Is OK. It's not a beautiful town. Bath, which is about 20 minutes away is a far more attractive place. I wouldn't describe Bristol as 'attractive'. It's more functional. It has two university's so if you do visit, expect to see alot of students wandering about the town. It's not a dirty place, there are some rather shabby bits but that's city's for you! It's not unpleasant either. In fact it's average. I wouldn't describe this place as somewhere special.
The Shopping...
Is surprisingly good. The city shopping isn't particularly well set out and there isn't a huge mall (as such) in the city centre. There are a wide range of shops. There appeared to be alot of sports shops. And THREE Next stores! So if you love Next, you'll love Bristol City Centre Shopping!
The best place to go for shopping is Cribbs Causeway which is a large mall where you can find every shop you will possibly want. There is a large Next and a large department store at either end. The food facilities aren't great though. Which brings me to...
The Restaurants...
You have you normal TGI's and stuff...no Planet Hollywoods though! It's not that great. There's allsorts of fast food and pizza places as well as alot of pubs. Nothing spectactular.
The Nightlife...
Seemed pretty good. There are alot of clubs offering discounts to students. Large pubs and wine bars. The people there seem to love the nightlife so if it's your thing, Bristol just might be your kind of place! The clubs attract big names too.
No trams or underground systems. Just your usual trains and buses! Trains are regular as Bristol Temple Meads is a large mainline station. There's lots of taxis in the city which aren't extremly overpriced. Buses are more reasonable and it is a pretty good bus service with regular and prompt buses to all the main places.

Advantages: A great time and the music concert is free, It is great for anybody on any budget Disadvantages: Quite a bit of traffic around so try to get there early for parking nearby or better still leave the car at the park and ride and walk.
